Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Canon 52 Circular Polarizer FilterCustomer Review: Great filter, worth its money Summary: 5 Stars
I bought the Canon Circular Pol Filter and I am very happy with it. It is a very good filter. It has a neutral gray color, which is very important, because otherwise you get a colorcast. I tried other ones but the Canon filter was the most neutral one. I know you can correct with a correct setting of the white balance, but when you take pictures like I do, some with filter and some without, you do not have to care for the white balance and you have more consistent colors of your hole shot. I find this very important and convenient.
The filter screws easily on the lens and never gets stuck. Very nice is also that you can put the lens cap on (I only have Canon lenses) when the filter is screwed in. It does help to protect your filter and you do not have to unscrew it when you carry your lens around.
I use it very often with my Canon EF 100 mm 1:2:8 Macro USM Lens, which by the way is still a very goog lens and it is a great combination. Lately I used it at the Olympic National Park in overcast conditions after rain and the filter really brought ou the colors of the trees and ferns, because it reduced the reflections from the wet plants and gave a much more clear and brilliant picture than witout the filter. I also used it for some macro photos of the fishes I found in a little river, it eliminated all the reflections really well.
This Canon Circular Polfilter is a very good one and worth every penny, I really recommend that filter highly.
Description of Canon 52 Circular Polarizer FilterPolarizing filter enhances picture quality by blocking harmful reflected light. Use it to reduce polarized light reflections from glass and water surfaces or to improve color saturation. Simple to use, circular polarizing filters (such as Canon's PL-C) polarize light circularly, rather than linearly, so it does not interfere with autofocus or TTL light metering. TYPE: Screw-in
