Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Canon BCI-6BK Black Ink TankCustomer Review: The Best Way to order the Best Cartridges for your Canon! Summary: 5 Stars
I tried to save money by ordering non Canon "equivalent" ink tanks. What a mistake. The printer never worked properly, even for just black text which printed with fuzzy edges on every character. The ink tanks also dried out much quicker than the Canon ink tanks bought with the printer. In fact, they only lasted a few months despite very little use, whereas the original ink tanks lasted well over a year.
These genuine cartridges immediately restored print quality to where it was, but I discovered the non-Canon blue ink tank had clogged the print head, and I had to remove it to clean it manually (a very tricky operation that is not recommended by Canon). I will never buy non Canon ink tanks again.
The pricing on amazon.com is excellent, and much better than elsewhere. The free standard shipping for ink tanks is very fast and does not require the $25 minimum purchase of normal free shipping (which is also slower anyway). I had my ink tanks in two days from the time of order.
This is the ONLY way I will order Canon genuine ink tanks in the future (unless the pricing or shipping terms change) and I will NEVER use non Canon ink tanks again.
Customer Review: Very good ink, believe me, buy the original Canon brand! Summary: 5 Stars
I have a Canon i860 printer and love it, and I frequently buy the replacement ink off Amazon. I recently bought this BCI-6 BK ink tank and it works very well and lasts long. When I buy ink off Amazon, I make sure I buy over $25 worth of products, because who wants to pay shipping? It's not that hard to buy $25 worth of items to get free shipping, because 3 tanks of ink equals about $30 or less. It's a deal compared to local office stores where you pay higher prices, tax, and hope they have the cartridge in stock.
I've had a Canon S900 and the printhead died or got clogged from ink that was fake. I tried to use the fake ink to save money and I lost a $300 printer because of it. Do yourself a favor and buy the authentic Canon brand ink. It's more expensive yes, but who wants to replace a printer every single year?
Great ink here, and it's genuine. I will continue to buy my Canon ink off Amazon...recommended!
Customer Review: Stay away from cheap generic ink - buy Canon Summary: 5 Stars
On my last printer the i960, I made the mistake of switching to a generic brand and what a mistake that turned out to be. The colors looked bad, the inks ran out real fast, and when I didn't use my printer just for a couple of weeks, it completely clogged my print heads. Multiple cleaning runs did no good, and I removed the print head and cleaned it under water many times. That cleared up a bit, but not a whole lot, and I ended up replacing an otherwise excellent printer. For my next Canon printer, I stuck with Canon inks and never had that issue again. Yes, the generic inks were cheap, but it ended up costing me a lot more over the long run.
Customer Review: Love my Canon inks Summary: 5 Stars
I am in love with my new Canon Pixma MP760! I specifically got a Canon because of the separate ink tanks. The full page prints are wonderful and it doesn't use as much ink as I assumed it would; and that's a good thing considering how long it takes to receive your shipment. Amazon has some of the best pricing on the web-but watch out...Free Shipping = SLOW Shipping. Order these a month in advance-it will take that long to see them. 'Available in 24 hours'...maybe, but keep in mind that 'available' has nothing to do with 'ship'. A few days difference, no problem. But weeks? Come on.
Customer Review: COMPATABILITY Summary: 5 Stars
THERE are MANY COMPANIES MARKETING PRINTER INKS AT CONSIDERABLY CHEAPER PRICES THAN THE ORIGINAL MANUFACTURER. I am reluctant to even try them and appreciate Amazon;s keeping prices lower than eny other distributor. The substitutes offer assurances of quality, however, you can void a printer's warrantee.
Even after warrantee; the subs do not warantee and cannot warrantee the longevity of the prints made with their inks. See ya in 100 years.
