As far as I'm concerned, this is a MUST HAVE. I liked the added battery cartridge for AA's. It's a very comfortable and useful grip not only for vertical use but in general handling. Very sturdy. No problems. Worth the price!Customer Review: Wouldn't shoot without it

I love shooting with this. I no longer have to worry about my battery dying and shooting portraits is easier with the controls on the grip.
It adds a little weight to the camera but has not been an issue for me.

The first accessory for my Canon 50D, purchased together. I found no issues at all with reported problem of loose fit. Easy to install. Do not find the extra weight a problem but rather added stability. 100% satisfied.
