Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Canon BG-E2N Battery Grip for Canon 20D, 30D, 40D & 50D Digital SLR Cameras (Retail Package)Customer Review: Get A Grip!!! Summary: 5 Stars
This is my second DSLR camera and my second camera to have a grip. I know it's a preferential thing, but I'm one that prefers to use a grip. The camera body feels much more balanced, especially when longer, heavier lenses are attached. It's also nice to have the controls on the grip when you're shooting in portrait orientation. Finally, the dual-battery in the grip means you've got all the juice you'll need for a long day of shooting. As a final thought, have you noticed how the 1D-series professional bodies come with the grip as part of the body? I wonder why that is? Think about it! ;-)
Customer Review: Two thumbs up for the Canon BG-E2N battery grip !! Summary: 5 Stars
No complaints here for the battery grip. I've had it about 2 weeks....had a week to play with it before shooting a wedding, and it's just what I expected, just what I needed. Many shots were vertical. It's very convenient to have your hand in the natural shooting position while shooting. I change the ISO and aperture a lot, so the buttons and dial on the grip are a great feature. The extended battery life (hey, that's what it's for anyway !!) is great, also. It's Canon, so I expect high quality.

Customer Review: Love the feel Summary: 5 Stars
Bought this for my 50d, I love the way this makes my camera feel, it just feels better and I didn't think that was possible. By the way It also does everything it says it will and it does them very well. I was also surprised that it came with a AA battery cage, which will give you extra backup power when needed. The only downside is the price which isn't that bad because I am a firm believer that "you get what you pay for" so I don't mind shelling out the extra dough for name brand. This grip also looks amazing and matches the camera body spot on.
Customer Review: Great addition to the 40D Summary: 5 Stars
If you find yourself shooting lots of vertical (portrait-style) shots, this is a MUST HAVE accessory because of the shutter and AF point-selection controls. If you find yourself shooting tons of exposures, the additional battery, and the time it affords you before recharging, is going to prove invaluable. And lastly, if you use long, heavier lenses (as I do with the EF 70-200 f/2.8 L) the additional weight on the butt end of the camera actually brings more balance to the rig, making shooting more comfortable. I'm glad I purchased the battery grip.
Customer Review: Canon product, Canon quality Summary: 5 Stars
This is the third battery grip for Canon cameras that I've purchased or used.
The last grip I bought was an off brand. I purchased that one to save some money. The quality is less than the real Canon product, and the rubber coating is coming off.
This grip is everything I expected. It attached without any problem, the battery door that needed to be removed from the camera body stores right in the grip, and it functions just as it should.
Spend a little more and buy the brand name product. It's worth it.
