This replacement battery does exactly what it is made to do; give you extended recording capability over the ridiculously inadequate battery that Cannon ships with their video cameras.
As mentioned in previous posts, this battery is roughly twice the size of the original battery, but fits the camera nicely. It also gives MORE than twice the record time. I get between 2 and 3 hours of shooting w/ the LCD open.

I love this battery on the HG-10. I was originally worried that it might have been too large but now I know this is not an issue at all. It offers much more capactity being slightly larger than the original in size, but still fitting perfectly without protruding past the back of the camera. If you are thinking about a second battery for the HG-10, I would highly recommend this one.Customer Review: Very pleased

This battery is amazing. A must have item. It is fit into my HG10 nicely. Just slightly bigger than the piece of craps battery that came with the canon HG10. This battery should have come with the HG10. Every time I used the HG10 for 15-20 minutes and the battery still shown full power. The original battery would have shown 1/2 power or need to be recharge.Customer Review: Great replacement battery

I bought the BP-2L14 as a replacement for the battery that came with my Optura camera. The standard battery never quite held a charge from the start and before long I would get a "battery warning" lamp right after turning on the camera. The longer life and no memory charging make this a great option for anyone looking for a backup battery.Customer Review: Works great for me

I took two of these batteries with me on a recent trip to China - I always recharged them overnight and didn't have any situations during the day while site-seeing where I ran out of battery juice. I used them in a Canon HV30 video camera and they have more than enough juice for me to watch my 1 hour HD tapes on the plane flight back. :)
