The BP-819 gives about 3 hours of battery life to the HF11. This is much better than the 809 and its size is not too bad. It sticks off the back only slightly. the larger one might be nice for tripod shooting outdoors, but for typical everyday use, the BP-819 is a winner, not too big but much better battery life than the original.Customer Review: Great battery even if pricey.

I use this for the Canon Vixia HG 20. Since the battery that comes with that camera lasts only about an hour this is essential for long video shoots. I get about 3 hours of time. It's a bit larger than the regular battery but it's not cumbersome. Works just like the regular battery too. The only drawback is it's expensive.Customer Review: A great backup battery you need

I purchased this battery pack for the Canon HF100 I purchased at the same time. As other reviewers have said it sticks out further in back than the OEM battery but is quite acceptable in use.
So far it has held it charge well and gives about 185 min of run time.
Well worth the additional investment.

This battery lasted all day and half the night filming Disneyland using my Canon Vixia HFS100 HD camcorder. The battery that came with my camcorder last only about 60 minutes so it's OK for a backup to this all day plus battery. I'm pleased that once fully charged the battery will be ready when you need it.Customer Review: Expensive-but worth every penny!!

I bought this battery to be able to record longer lenghts of video without changing out the battery. I have no complaints. It lasts a good 4-4.5 hours without fail. It allows me to recoed a whole soccer game and still have plenty of recording time left. Worth the money just for the convenience!!!
