This is a great addition to my HG20 camera, I also recently purchased the VL-5 video light for the mini shoe so having the extended battery really helps. As I and in Iraq as I write this having somne place to recharge batteries can be an issue. Before getting the BP-827 I missed out on capturing some really cool stuff because the BP-809 gave me so little time. With well over 2 hundred min with BP-827 I'm good to go.

You NEED to buy this battery! It will make your shoot times unbelievably long while still ensuring that your camera won't be torn up by a third party battery. Why'd I give it four stars then? The price. It's a good chunk of money for nothing but one battery, but I guarantee you'll be glad you bought this battery once you come to terms with how much it really costs.Customer Review: Worth the money

I bought this for my Canon Vixia HF M31 camcorder. The battery that comes with that camera lasts about an hour. This battery lasts between 3 and 4. The remaining battery life on the camera says 300+ minutes when fully charged.
The battery sticks out quite a ways behind the camera and obviously adds a bit of weight, but I'm okay with that.

The battery pack performs exactly as described. Takes 4-5 hours to fully charge and gives you at least 5 hours of
recording time, as long as you are not using an accessory light on the mini-shoe. It is an essential addition as the supplied battery pack gives maybe an hour of time. It would get a "5" if it were not for the extortionist price.

The product is good,
but the cost is too high. I'm not satisfied it is worth the high price now that I have it. But there aren't many options, I hope there will be in the future, so I can afford to buy a second battery; This is the first video camera (of 6 I've owned), that I feel I can't justify buying 2 large batteries.
