Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Canon BP511A 1390mAh Lithium Ion Battery Pack for Select Digital Cameras and Camcorders (Retail Package)Customer Review: I don't know why, but it's the best Summary: 5 Stars
For some reason, Canon- branded batteries are better than those sold by actual battery manufacturers. Don't just look at the $$/mAh ratio, consider safety, reliability and longevity. In these categories, the Canons rock. I bought a G1 camera about five years ago, and the camera is toast, but the battery still works like a charm in my 20D. Others start out with 1400 or even 1700 mAh, but fail after six months - read the reviews here on Amazon.com.
Customer Review: Works perfect Summary: 5 Stars
Fit in the camera perfect because these are Canon. (Canon 10D) These batteries last me about 2 to 3 years before they start to have a shorter life span. I have one set that is five years old that lasts about 70 shots. New ones last forever. I alwasy carry two sets on photo shoots. All temperatures. Thought about going generic and saving the $, but read too many reviews where the replacement didn't quite fit. You get what you pay for.
Customer Review: Dont Buy NON-Canon Batteries For Your Pro-Equipment Summary: 5 Stars
Yeah I know Canon batteries cost more , but you get what you pay for. Sure you can get the same battery from a different company for as low as $5 on Amazon , but I wouldn't trust those batteries in my equipment. I used to think the generic batteries were just as good until I bought a few. Years later my canon batteries still work and the generics are both almost completely dead. Customer Review: A MUST HAVE!! Summary: 5 Stars
I am amazed at the longevity of this battery. It is truly awesome and a must have. My Canon Digital Rebel is a year old and the original (well used!) battery has been losing it's charge of late.
This battery really wowed me on a recent trip. I used it for a solid week and it never showed a drop in the battery meter. That's with a flash too.
You need this battery!
Customer Review: Name-brand battery worth the extra bucks... Summary: 5 Stars
I am a professional photographer. Every one of the eight non-Canon brand batteries I have (four different brands)outlived their warranties by only a few days. None of the six Canon brand batteries I own have ever given me any problem of any kind. One of my Canon Batteries is at least four years old and still performs beautifully. I will never buy a non-Canon battery for my Canon camera again.
