May be a little expensive but remember when we used to buy film and process? If this is the only incremental cost to taking pictures, and I have taken thousands in the 4+ years I had the original before it went out, I figure it is best to just get another original Canon.
Bought an off-brand for my camcorder and wished I hadn't. Only lasted 1 year.

This battery work good. It give you confident to use more than copy battery.
I do not know what is inside and I do not know how to find a copy battery that have the same quality.
I compare this one with my 2 copies battery. After that, I throw away the copies.
If you do not have time and do not want to take a risk. Just pay more and enjoy.

All batteries from any brand are expensive but fortunately there are other brands that offer the same batteries which in a way force these companies to reduce the prices of their official ones. I purchased the original from Canon because I did not see one that I could trust. Months ago I purchased a after market battery as a back up for my Canon cameras, thinking I was going to save money. Before a year was up the battery failed while the original 7 year old
Canon battery continued to operate at full capacity. Amazon is the best price and I will continue to purchase other products from this company.

Even though it seems like a steep price, the $50 ORIGIONAL Canon battery works like a charm and works forever! Well, lets just say you'll be pleasantly surprised by how long it can last when you need it. Of course there are bad ones but that's easy- just get it replaced. Be warned- after a couple years its natural for a rechargeable battery to die.
