I shoot a lot of roller derby, and these work great with my 580 flashes-- doing everything as advertised. My problem with them is that I purchased an older 540 flash, and when used with that flash they over heated and stopped working. So, if you choose to hunt down an older flash, be careful when using these packs. I sent my packs to canon to be repaired, but they said that they don't repair accessories. So, be warned. These rock with the 580, but in my experience will fry your 540 very quickly. Aside from that issue, you can put one of these on your flash and shoot like crazy for hours.
