Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Canon EF 85mm f1.2L II USM Lens for Canon DSLR CamerasCustomer Review: Absolutely phenomenal lense! Summary: 5 Stars
This lense is the best of the best. Yes, it is a slow focuser, but once you lock the focus in.... WOW! The color saturation is amazing. The bokeh is undescribable. Do not rent or borrow it unless you have the money to buy it. You will fall in love.
UPDATE: I have had the lense for 3 months now and I am STILL IN LOVE!!!
Customer Review: My Dream Lens Summary: 5 Stars
I've been wanting this lens for quite some time now and I finally decided to go for it. The 1.2 f-stop is intense and it's hard to take a bad photograph if you know what you're doing. Love the way it works with my 5D Mark II. Only wish it could be a little quieter...makes me feel a little too conspicuous during a wedding.
Customer Review: Excellent Portrait Lens Summary: 5 Stars
Regarding shapness, the proof is in the pudding. Beyond comparison for shooting portraits or subjects with very minimal lighting; extremely shallow depth of field (at its widest aperture opening, facial images start pin sharp at the nose and blur as early as the ears) for the most stunning bokehs. See samples I posted.
Customer Review: Simply the best under 200mm lens Canon makes.. Summary: 5 Stars
This is a Canon lens in the Class with the Legendary 200/1.8. It provides vivid color and contrast with a razor thin DOF. If you are serious about your photography and like to work in low light or do lovely detailed work this is must have. I don't know why I waited so long for mine.
Customer Review: Ditto, great lens Summary: 5 Stars
I have 70-200 2.8, 24-70 2.8, 16-35 2.8 and this lens. This being my only prime is great. Can't say enough about what this lens will do. DOF needs to be watched you can get a focused tip of the nose and out of focus eyes even with someone with a small nose :-)
