Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM Digital SLR Lens for EOS Digital SLR CamerasCustomer Review: Outstanding Quality Summary: 5 Stars
I shoot with a Canon 40D. I own the Canon 17-55 2.8, the Canon 10-22 ultra wide zoom, the Canon 55-250, and this lens. All are very good to excellent, but the Canon 60mm 2.8 Macro is the best of these, and can give you astonishing pictures. Pro-quality shots are razor sharp, with nicely blurred backgrounds when you need them. Very highly recommended, and it has the added bonus of being a good value, too.
Customer Review: Awesome lens for the amateur photographer! Summary: 5 Stars
I took a few pictures as soon as I received this lens and was immediately impressed. I has always loved taking close up photos and intimate portraits and this is the lens to do that with. It is no Canon L lens but it is just fine for what I need it for. I highly recommend this lens for someone who wants to get into macro photography, take amazing portraits or use it as a general everyday lens.
Customer Review: My most prized lens Summary: 5 Stars
I originally purchased this lens for portraiture, specifically newborns. I was also looking for a macro lens, and a bit frustrated with some of the limitations from my 50mm.
This lens, in my opinion, is underpriced for the quality of images. Amazing DOF, soft bokeh, incredibly sharp focus. Highly recommended. This should be a staple in every photographer's camera bag.
Customer Review: Awesome lens!! Summary: 5 Stars
I love my 60mm macro and have got some really nice shots with it. It is identical in construction to the Canon 100mm macro. The only real difference between the two is the minimum focusing distance. You have to get about 6" with the 60mm and about 12" for the same shot with the 100mm. You cannot go wrong with this lens and besides it makes a reaaly nice portrait lens as well.
Customer Review: I love this lens Summary: 5 Stars
Went back and forth on getting this lens and the 100mm and glad I went with the 60mm first. I love it, the quality of the images are awesome. This does not mean I will not get the 100mm at some point, but I am happy that I purchased the 60mm. Be sure to get yourself one :) I was kind of bummed that it is not made for my 5DMKii, but on my 50D it is perfect!!
