The value for the money beats anything on the market now. I was using an Epson Stylus Photo 1270 for the past 4 years that had enough after thousands of prints. It took me a long time to get the Epson to do what I want it. In comparison, the i9900 has been extremely easy to get it to produce fantastic looking prints. I was considering the HP B9180, the Epson 2400 and the new Canon Pro 9000 but the price differential with the i9900 ($289 at Staples, sorry Amazon...) now the printer is being discontinued was hard to pass. The ink is much, much, much cheaper than the 30+ per cartridge for the HP. I am using Epson paper with great results. Very happy with what I see so far.Customer Review: Canon i9900

This printer is extremely easy to set up and connect to your computer. Loading the software was straightforward. Even getting the first print was no problem. Print qulaity is exceptional. I have printed 4X6 to 8.5X11 prints with no problems (with border and borderless).
I have used Canon Photo Paper Plus, Canon Photo Paper Pro, and Kodak Professional Inkjet Photo Paper all with good results. The only trick is printing from Photoshop or other non-Canon based programs. Setting up the color profiles to get a good color match can be a learning experience. Fortunately there is plenty of guidance available with a simple web search. Excellent printer!

I have had this printer for about a year and a half. I just had a problem with the printer head breaking down. I was just 2 months out of warranty... I called Canon and they gave me an extension! That was really nice of them. When I went to the printer shop they said the reason the print head went out was because I was using generic inks.. so it really was my fault. The printer works beautifully and I have always received great customer service from Canon. I am going to buy genuine inks now! I would also suggest the protection plan, it would have cost me $200 to fix if Canon hadn't given me the extension on the limited warranty. My i9900 has surpassed all of my expectations. It delivers lab quality 13 x 19 prints every time. I have used Canon paper and Ilford Classic Pearl paper. I have come to prefer the Ilford because of it's professional look and feel. The only small negative is the amount of ink used by the i9900. I've made hundreds of prints in the 2 months I've had the machine. In that time I've replaced the the Photo Cyan and Photo Magenta twice, the Cyan, Magenta and Black once. The good news is they are relatively inexpensive. I'm also printing at the machines highest quality all the time. It is also the quietist and fatest inkkjet printer I've ever owned (it's my 4th.).Customer Review: unbelievable photos

I purchased the canon i9900 a couple of weeks ago. I am using a canon powershot SI1S 3.2 megapixel camera.I had to try and print the various sizes that this printer allows so i have printed 4x6,8x10 (not borderless) 8.5x11 and 13x19. they are all absolutely beautiful.I do see a difference when you use non canon papers.the canon photo pro seems to give you the best results.FYI so far the pictures that I have printed were all from the lowest resolution setting on my camera,including the 13x19, I can't wait to take high res pictures to print because I cannot imagine the prints to be any more beautiful then they already are. I would highly recommend this printer.
