From time to time we would leave the battery in the charger and just take the camera. As you can imagine, that is pretty annoying. Now, when we get home we just swap the fully charged battery with the battery in the camera and we're always ready to go.
I read reviews of non-Canon replacement batteries and almost every one of them said the battery had a short life and was a waste of money.

It is necessary to have that extra battery pack so you don't run out of juice in the middle of the woods. These batteries hold charge for a fairly long time unless you're big on flash photography or the AF (both of which I'm not). The only downside is they are expensive than conventional AA batteries and if you're not looking to invest in a battery-grip this should suffice your clicking needs.Customer Review: HAPPY WITH PURCHASE

AT FIRST MY WIFE AND I WENT TO THE MANUFACTURERS WEBSITE AND FOUND OUT THAT THE COST OF THIS BATTERY WOULD BE $70.WE DECIDED TO LOOK ELSEWHERE.WE WENT TO AMAZON AND FOUND THE SAME BATTERY,STILL IN THE BOX FOR $30 LESS.NO BRAINSTORM NEEDED HERE.

I have a Canon Rebel purchased a few years ago, and had lost my extra battery. Not wanting to go without, I bought this battery. It has more capacity than the one that came with the camera, and, as with the fist one, lasts a really long time.
