Customer Review: BEWARE OF NON-GENUINE CANON NB-4L!!!

Don't try to save $$ by buying off-brand replacement batts for the Canon Elph & Powershot series. You'll live to regret it. Nor will you have to live a long time. One or two photo sessions will have you regretting your purchase. The companies who make and market the replacement batteries intentionally mislead potential purchasers into believing their products meet the recharge standards of original Canon batteries. THEY DO NOT. NOT EVEN CLOSE!! The price differential is sucker bait. Caveat emptor.

I have had this now for 15 months and it has always held a great charge for a long time. i estimate hundreds of pictures before having to recharge--that is, I don't really worry too much. But if you do, just charge each night and you'll have no problems.
I acidently left one in my pocket when my wife did the laundry and it survived the wash cycle! She caught it before it went in the dryer.
Anyway, we own two SD750 cameras and two of these batteries. No complaints at all!

When I bought my latest Canon digital camera about two years ago, I bought a second battery like this plus the recharger. The price is low enough that it has made purchasing the 2nd battery well worth it. I keep one in the camera, and the 2nd (charged) one in the camera case. I always have a battery ready to go when one runs out of juice. Battery life is much better than any regular or rechargeable AA camera batteries I've used in the past. My Cannon PowerShot SD450 camera battery (original to the camera) no longer held a charge. I purchased a new "compatible" off brand battery at a local big box store (for a little less money.) It would not even charge. At that point I thought I might have a throw-away CAMERA! Point is, the Canon NB-4L Battery Pack works like it is supposed to. Great battery. Fully charged it's good for about 250 pictures before it gives out. I've taken up to 300 shots with this, when not using the zoom or playback camera features; and as few as 150 when using a lot of zoom or playback. Takes about an hour to fully recharge when totally depleted. Very compact, easy to carry an extra in your pocket. Check for a good price. I found the price range to differ as much as $50 between vendors.
