Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Canon PG-40 Black Ink Cartridge

Customer Review: Should last a while
Summary: 5 Stars

I am a college student, and i bought a pixma ip2600 printer which uses this cartrige. I actually have not opened it yet, because i bout it when my last cartrige was half full. Beleive me, these cartriges will go for ever, as long as you do not print many piictures. I noticed that my color cartrige, which is a little smaller ran out pretty quick. However this cartrive works fine for text, and should yeield about 300 to 400 pages if used sparingly. Overall a good product at a low price. I got mine for about 15 dollars with free shipping. saved about 5 dollars vs walmarts pice.

Customer Review: Use this ink for long-lasting results
Summary: 5 Stars

I use genuine Canon ink for projects where long life is important. For daily stuff, I can use aftermarket cartridges and/or refill myself to save a lot of money. If you refill, each tankful is about $1.50. If you buy aftermarket, cartridges can run anywhere from $2 to $10.

I have never refilled these particular cartridges, but understand that it's easy to do. In addition, many websites say you can reset the ink level indicator with scotch tape a a minute or two. Don't know if it works.

Customer Review: Low per page cost
Summary: 5 Stars

My Canon printer/fax uses the PG-40 Cartridges, and find them a real bargain. One cartridge lasts me several months, and the cost is under $20. Unlike the other printers that I've owned, I'm not spending a fortune on ink. It's nice to see OEM ink cartridges not costing an arm and a leg. Also, the print is always clear, and I've never had a problem with dirty print heads using genuine Canon ink.

Customer Review: Canon for Life
Summary: 5 Stars

I have the Canon printer for a few years now, I got it as a gift when I bought a computer a few years ago and It works like a horse, the ink is not cheap but no one can beat the price I get on Amazon, I believe I already bout about 30 inks on Amazon and for sure I will buy more, the prints looks great.

Customer Review: 30 Pages later, I still have about 4/5ths of the Ink remaining
Summary: 5 Stars

I'll be honest, I was a little weary buying this since some of the reviews said the ink was used up insanely fast. I guess it depends on the printer since mine seems to be doing just fine. I'm using a Pixma IP1600 by the way. Its pretty old but it gets the job done.
