It may be hard to tell from the photo, but this case is made of thick, sturdy leather. It fits the SD780 perfectly, though as others have said the strap needs to hang outside. Some people have commented on the small size of the case and that you can carry the camera and nothing else. I thought this was actually a plus. One of the reasons I bought the Canon SD780 was it's small size. Since this case is only slightly larger than the camera I can put the camera in the leather case and it still fits in my jeans pocket with room to spare. I've had this case for over two years and used it on many trips. This is a quality case. Holds my SD850 nicely, the magnetic latch is strong and the hard case is great for protection.
I noticed some complaints about the wrist strap having to go through the slot in the top of the case. When I'm going to be taking the camera in and out of the case often where there may be many opportunities for pictures, I simply run the wrist strap out the side of the cover. I can still secure it on my wrist and in/out is quick.

Great quality leather. It does take a few hours before the camera will fit perfectly and the cover will shut securely using the magnet so please be patient :). The good thing is that the case will hold the camera securely since it is a snug fit, so it will not fall out even if you open the cover. High quality leather, looks and feels nice. The camera itself doesn't come with any protective case so it'll be good to have this case for protection. It is made specifically for that camera so the fit is excellent. The case fits perfectly the Canon camera SD780 IS. I saw somebody saying that it is somehow difficult to take the camera out from the case and here it is what I do. I do not pull the camera wrist strap through the hole in the case when I know that I will use the camera. I use the wrist strap to pull the camera out of the case. It comes nice, quickly and easy. I wear the case on my belt most of the time.
