Customer Review: "Never Ready" case - blast from the past

I bought this case for a Canon G9. Fit and finish of the case is excellent, no rough edges, no loose stitching.
Camera is a snug fit, but not so much that it rubs against the case unduly.
By unsnapping the two side snaps one can swing the upper case out of the way to take photographs; however the bottom snap may come loose on it's own, allowing the upper case to fall to the ground, leaving the photographer looking akin to a dork, first class.
If one has the Belkin sunshade attached to the G9, one may find that the case is too snug to use. I removed the sunshade part of the Belkin, leaving the adhesive attached glass protector in place. In order to use the Belkin it will be necessary to remove the leather case before reinstalling the sunshade.
It is necessary, of course, to remove the leather case before changing the battery or the card in the camera.
The thumbscrew in the bottom of the case attaches firmly to the tripod insert in the G9, and in turn has it's own tripod insert machined into the bottom of the thumbscrew. This allows a tripod to be used without fully removing the leather case.
The inside leather of the case is soft, and as a result of the cushioning there is some bulk added to the camera when enclosed in the case.
Without the case the G9 is a bit more than 1.5" front to back. Encased in leather it measures a bit more than 2.25".
The securing snaps are not too tight, but feel as if they will last for quite some time, not being loose or a sloppy fit.
I cannot comment on how the case works with the Canon G9 neckstrap, I use a small hand strap; with a hand strap the case does not get in the way at all.
Having the camera in the case does add time to making the camera "photo ready"; however one can easily remove the top half of the case. That leaves the camera "ready to go"; the bottom half of the case does not interfere with camera function (other than accessing the battery and card, as noted above).
While a bit pricey, it's a very nice case.
