I looked high and low for a good case and decided that I should just go with the Canon case after taking a look at it in a store.
Pros:
Does not make the camera much bigger than it already is
Is relatively hard/stiff to protect the camera from dropping or blunt trauma to the camera while in the case.
Fits incredibly snugly. With a 2gb chip and a battery that lasts forever, who needs more space for other stuff?
Cons:
I kinda wish it was a velcro snap instead of a metal snap because the first time I pulled it out of the case the metal snap dinged my brand new camera.
If you're like me and want a secure, snug fit to keep the camera as small as possible while protected, this case is for you.

The SD990IS does indeed fit in this case. Not sure what all the complaining was about. When you buy a small camera you want it to stay sleek, and this case keeps it that way. It is very well padded inside and the camera fits very snugly instead. I have a feeling the leather will stretch a little too. The case closes fine too, after you squeeze it in a lil further. The case definitely feels like it will protect my camera, even if heaven forbid I drop the precious on the floor.
My only regret is not getting amazon's PSC-55 case and NB-5L combo pack. It was only 38$!!!...but it was too late to cancel my order and I didn't want the headache of returning the case when it got here, to wait for the combo pack if I had ordered it.

Must-have accessary, because it fits perfectly with my SD600, provides definite protection for the camera's large LCD screen, looks great (not bulky) on my belt, which also allows me easy access whenever I need to. For only $15.99, I believe it's the best investment for my $199.99 camera.
The leather case may be the only accessary I need, because the SD600 battery will allow me to take 400 photos per charge, and the 2 GB memory card (paid $39.99) will let me take about 1,500 photos in fine resolution.
The case actually fits into my pocket and it's not noticeable. What a nice product from Canon!
My thanks go to other Amazon users who had written accurate reviews, which convinced me to buy this product.
Customer Review: Bought for an S500 now used for an SD1000

For the S500 this was the perfect case. Robust and exactly the right size. It protected the camera for years and eventually outlived it. When I bought the SD1000 I also bought the matching PSC-1000 case, but it turned out to be a piece of garbage, the thinnest possible leather over cardboard. When the PSC-1000 case failed I looked for something to put the camera in while I ordered a replacement. Instead I found this old PSC-55 and am using that.
The PSC-55 is a much higher quality case than recent Canon examples. The leather is of glove quality and thickness. I wore this case every day for several years and it just looks well worn in. The stitching is still tight and it shows no signs of failure.

I've had 2 Canon SD600 camera and looked for a nice case that can protect them. I've bout a PSC90 case and a PSC55 case. The PSC90 is smaller that fits exactly the SD600. The PSC55 is taller with a good cushion at the bottom and the front. If you want a case to protect the camera, the PSC55 is the one. If you want a case that can drop into your pant pocket or your pulse, the PSC90 is smaller so it is better. Howerver, the PSC90 is discontinued or changed in design. I've ordered 2 from B&H and they sent me a different style that I've had to pay to ship them back. I highly recommend this PSC55 case to everybody. It can protect better and cheaper than cases selling in BB, CC, Frys or Walmart.
