Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Canon PSC-85 Deluxe Soft Case for Canon Powershot A650IS and A720IS

Customer Review: Good case, but D-Res 10AW is probably a better choice for most.
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a great case, it looks nice. It is not meant to carry all your gear though. For most an extra set of batteries should cover more than enough picture time with one of the Canon A series, especially if you are running 2300MaH or better cells.

However I have two bags I used with my A70, A620 and now A650IS. Since the A650IS is slightly bigger my D-Res 10AW fits it even better, has room for a couple sets of batteries and memory cards. The biggest bonus is it has a built-in rain coat.

For my main bag I have a D-Res 50AW. The 50 can hold my 10AW bag, my charger, a small tripod, more batteries, pretty much everything I need. It also has a rain coat. both these bags can be belt carried if you want.

I leave my 50AW in my room and just carry the 10AW. With 3 sets of batteries I have enough for all my shots, if I do run out (say my batteries are bad), finding 4 AA's is usually simple anywhere in the world.

Customer Review: Canon PSC-85 Soft Case for Canon A720IS Camera
Summary: 5 Stars

Case fits well and is padded to protect my camera. Velcro closure works well and much easier than the zippers on my last case. The case interior is lined with a slippery soft material that protects the view screen and lets the camera in and out of the case without hanging up on anything. Front pocket is rather small but holds some extra batteries and a small memory chip with no problem. Built in belt loop is a nice feature that I thought I would never use, but is really very handy for carrying the camera around, so I like it! The dark graphite color outer shell is attractive and seems to just wipe off and dirt and dust that gets on it. Appears to be very durable, also.
Overall, the Canon PSC-85 does what it is supposed to do and at a very reasonable price! If you are buying a new Canon Powershot, buy it in the bundle Amazon offers and save a couple of bucks.

Customer Review: Canon A590 exceptional!
Summary: 5 Stars

Fried my Nikon first generation digital camera and replaced it with the Canon A590. My kids had recently bought the A570 but since that was no longer available I upgraded to the A590. It's quick, quiet and extremely user friendly--even for a 63-year old grandfather. The digital zoom to 16X has been great with wildlife shots and I even managed to get some great shots from the Towers at Narragansett, RI of the bride and groom down at the breakwater about 150 feet away. The 8.1 mp give me the ability to zoom and crop without getting grainy on my prints. This has been like a digital rebirth for me. Customer Review: Nice little case
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this for my Canon A590IS. As many other reviewers have mentioned, it has an outside zipped pocket which can hold 2 pairs of spare batteries (4 x AA) or an extra memory card.

The case is sturdier than I thought, which was a nice surprise, has a belt loop in the back, a velcro fastened top flap, and is filled with soft lining inside to prevent scratching. I felt confident putting this case in my soft-sided carry-on bag for a long flight, knowing that my camera would be suitably protected. Once opened, the camera is easily accessible, and slides in and out effortlessly from the top--perfect if you use the belt loop.

For just a basic carry/protective case for your compatible Canon camera, you can't go wrong with this one for the price.

Customer Review: Ideal case for a Canon A710IS
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this to use with a Canon A710IS. It seems ideal, a snug fit, and with the camera on my belt can be carried around without thinking about it.
The pocket is large enough for a spare memory card, but not for 2 extra batteries (I don't see this as a problem when using Sanyo Eneloop AA batteries).
I did try 2 batteries in the pocket and they can be force fit but it makes it too hard to remove the camera and also there is a lot of pressure on the lens assembly.
The velcro closure works well, I don't know if the case is waterproof but usually if it is raining my raingear is covering the camera case anyway.

Update:when sliding the camera in and out of the case, the function wheel get's rotated sometimes, so watch for that.
