Let me first say me and my husband both have one of these printers. We've had them both for 2 years now and my goodness they have gotten terrible. They did fine for the first year about. The ink doesn't last long and is expensive. However, I could deal with that if it worked. Since that first year or so has passed, mine has pretty much stopped functioning completely. Before it stopped working, it was printing "lines" accross different areas of the pages, bascially through different sentences. His also does this. We've tried everything we can think of, but nothing has helped! Awful!!! Do not buy this printer!Customer Review: defective out of box

This is my 3rd Canon printer over the years and so far, this one has been a HUGE disappointment. Feed problems from the first alignment sheet passed through it. Both feeds jam and end up tearing the paper. The front feed doesn't print at all except for some smudges and ink smears, and the rear feed makes a loud squealing sound and jams right away.
I've sent an e-mail into Canon for support and have asked for an RMA with pre-paid shipping. We'll see how their support is...

This has been quite a disappointment. It won't scan photos with resolution over 600 dpi. Picture printing quality is really, really bad. I loved my HP printer, but when I bought my mac, it was incompatible.
