The Canon MP520 was a top rated all in one inkjet printer by consumer reports, and it was on this recommendation that I purchased one. I fully agree with consumer reports, it is head and shoulders above the all in one printer that it replaced! Getting a super good deal on the price of this really great product from Amazon.Com was just icing on the cake. I love this printer!! I had an old one for so long that didn't work right and so, I'm not sure if this is a great printer, but in my book, I couldn't have done better! The pictures that I've printed just on paper are great quality. I love that I can copy without turning on my computer. And my card making program is finally in working order (since I can now print out what I create). I love this printer, it is the best printer I ever owned... it does everything. The printing is excellent, the Ink Tanks last longer then my pixma MP500... the copy is very easy to use and the quality is superb... This is my third Canon printer and have been a long-time fan. This model doesn't disappoint. The only drawback is the need to use Canon branded ink cartridges. I have used generic cartridges in the past with good results, but the chip in the cartridges puts and end to that practice. Hopefully someone will figure out how to bypass the chip. As rated in Consumer Report, this is a top notch fast little printer. Couldn't be more pleased. Also, Consumer Report says this is an economical printer in terms of how ink costs translate to cost per printed page. Another upside is that, in addition to the rear paper feed, paper can also be fed in the front which allows printer to sit in a shelf.
