Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Canon Pixma MP530 Office All-In-One Inkjet Photo Printer

Customer Review: Great addition to a home office
Summary: 5 Stars

Over the years I've had machines from Epson, HP and Lexmark. The most noticable quality difference between the Canon and the rest is the paper handling, HP is/was the worst. Maybe it's because my wife and I, she had an HP and I had a Lexmark, had so many problems with our recent All-In-One's that the Canon 530 is like seeing sun after a long, cloudy winter. The set up was easy to understand, the control panel is logical and the size is easy to accommodate in a home office. The quality of print is excellent (haven't used it for photos yet), but a little noisy. Having a paper tray, Canon calls it a "cassette", to hold a bulk amount of A4 or letter size paper means no more running out of paper when receiving several faxes when out of the office. Plus an additional external paper feed source makes those once in a while print jobs where a paper change is necessary (legal size or letterhead) quick and easy. The only functions I have not yet used are scanning and faxing to or from my laptop. I'm not sure what influenced my decision to buy this machine more. My brother has had the exact same machine for about a year with great reviews and he's very anal, or the great experience I've had with Canon printers in the past or the consistently good reviews by several sources on the internet. My final comment is for the money, and Amazon had the best price when I was looking, this machine will be tough to beat.

Customer Review: Cheap can still be good!

I bought my Canon MP530 all in one printer/scanner/FAX/copier for a little over $100.00 brand new. The thing is great and incredibly easy to figure out how to use. The initial setup is a little trick so FOLLOW THE DIRECTION TO THE T. Text prints really fast and the scan quality of images is pretty good. There's even some auto correction features you can click on in real time while previewing a scan. I've had it for almost 2 years and I've only replaced the color cartridges twice and the black about four times. The only thing it won't do is large format, but no worries, I have a Canon S9000 that does a beautiful job of that, too. I also Noticed that the Canon's aren't as loud and clunky sounding as the HP printers. I give it a six out of five!

Customer Review: Great print, easy set up, replaceable printhead
Summary: 5 Stars

I have just recently purchased this printer from a local office supply store and I am thrilled with it. I printed out an 8x10 that was pure photo quality. Friends were over and they were amazed. I had an Epson that just stopped printing the black. Nothing could fix it so it was done. The canon has a replacable print head with is what could have fixed the Epson. Just so you all know, I have not found the print head on canon's web site so I am not sure how to purchase a new one. You may have to call canon directly. The great thing is that the head pops out and you can clean it if it gets all junked up. This is one printer that actually came with an owners manual, not just the one on cd for HP printers and others. Its a very thick book with a great troubleshooting section if you do run into issues. Dual paper options, one in the back and the tray in the bottom. Also, auto 2-sided printing, very nice for business users. I will update this as I go along using it. If you go with the step up from this which is the MP860, all you get is a color LCD, photo card slots, and about 1-2 pages faster. I don't ever print directly from the cards, always from the pc (I like to edit pics and see the detail easier), so the slots and the color viewing LCD is not worth $100 more. Go and get it, you won't be dissapointed.

Customer Review: Would recommend this printer highly...

This printer is our second all-in-one made by canon. Our first all-in-one was the canon F80. It served us well for 5 years.

We recently purchased the MP530 and are extremely happy with it. This machine does a great job printing, copying, faxing and scanning. A great all-in-one. This printer also does an excellent job printing photos on photo paper. We do have a designated photo printer...Canon Pixma iP6600D...on which I print our photos. But, the MP 530 does nearly as nice of a job!

I have called Canon tech support because I had a slight problem with scanning. Tech support was VERY helpful and we resolved my problem. The problem wasn't with the scanner, it was that I had 2 USB cords connected together to reach the MP530, therefore the scanner wasn't getting enough power to scan with. While on the phone with tech support, I reconnected with only one cord and the problem was fixed. So, it was my problem, not the printers.

More good news...in the 11 years that I have owned Canon printers, I only had to call tech support once!!!

I've always loved Canon printers. My first printer was a canon back about 11 years ago and it is still working for my mom.

In summary....GREAT JOB, CANON FOR ANOTHER FINE PRODUCT!

Customer Review: I sure love this printer....

I won't go on and on like the other reviews because I'd just be repeating the same information.
I print alot for biz purposes and have found this to be a great printer for my needs. The price was really right, I could not find one at any retail places (even on sale) for less than $50+ more plus gas.
Free shipping was a nice perk, and I had my new printer in less than a week not counting the weekend. No tax? COOL!
I'm not a "techno" person and I find it easy to operate. In fact it does so much more than my last printer I'm amazed. The quality of the prints is excellent, fast printing (for large quantities this is nice), and quiet operation in comparison to my old one which use to terrify my cats.
I haven't quite figured out the fax, but then I haven't taken the time to do so either (I work alot of hours).
I got a Canon camera for Xmas, and feel that this printer was a good choice as a compatible piece of equip. for photos. My other printer was a real pill in getting it to work properly in this way. Anyhow, I read the reviews here before I purchased and had the thing up and running in about an hour. Like I said, I'm not mechanically inclined so I am very happy. I find that the positive reviews here are accurate. I'm stickin' with Canon.
