Customer Review: LOVE this machine!
Summary: 5 Stars

I've had this machine for about ten days now, long enough to test all its features and find that I'm 100% satisfied with every one of them.
- Installation was a no-brainer on both my XP and iBook
- Photos print fabulously with the sample canon glossy paper included
- Scanning is extraordinarily good! And the software which allows you to manipulate your scanned images is super useful and very easy to use.
- I scanned in my tax returns and saved them to PDF files in 10 minutes!
- I scanned in a 2x3 photo from 1964, enlarged it to 4x5 and printed it in 5 minutes, and the new image is as good as the original!
- Copying and FAXing are easy and faster than on my old HP Laserjet 3200
- The back sheet feeder and lower cartridge work well, provide convenience, and fold up to protect from dust when not in use, as does the automatic document feeder up top.
- The paper catcher even unfolds automatically if you are printing a document or photo and forgot to open it!
- The machine is very quiet.
- UI on the printer panel is intuitive, and the accompanying software is really good, with no conflicts with XP, which is often a problem.

Highly highly recommend this product. Totally worth its price tag.

Customer Review: WOW I'm Impressed!
Summary: 5 Stars

I've had this Canon MP530 for over a month and I am absolutely delighted. I bought it to replace an Epson Ink Jet printer, which was terribly prone to paper jams. This Canon does more that I expected (even faxes in color!)and operates easily. I like the features that don't rely on a computer - copy, fax -- and the dual paper sources. Generally I use plain b&w printing the most and this machine handles that quietly and efficiently, with very good quality printing. Color printing/copying is crisp and accurate. I don't print photos often but was pleased with the tests I did when learning to use the machine. Scanning was easy and the OCR software that came with it is way better than what I had tried previously. Fax works easily though I can't set it up with our answering service (not an answer machine - that works fine, but we have a live service and the MP530 hangs up after determining that it is not a fax call ... there may be a way around this but I haven't found it yet).

The directions for operating the machine are a bit complicated and there are lots of buttons and features on the MP530, but I figured it out in an hour or two (fairly experienced with computers and hardware).

Overall I am tickled with this all in one!!

Customer Review: canon mp530
Summary: 5 Stars

The Canon MP530 multifunction device works well.

I have two minor complaints:
.I had to download VISTA drivers from Canon's web site. Canon did include a flyer about Vista support, so it is unnecessary to call Canon.
.The paper feeders have some slack to them (rear and top), and therefore one needs to be somewhat careful inserting paper.
.The Canon MP530 is somewhat heavy and bulky.

While I do not intended to use the fax function, it worked well. I had an adapter cable for my cell phone, and sent a few faxes.

The copier works well. The printer works well.

The bundled software is adequate, but there are many third party software products available, including several free products.

The Canon MP530 does not use photo grade inks, but the resolution and clarity are very good.

I was looking for an economical machine for ink usage. I found software to print black and white with an option to gray scale.

I have not tested this device for wireless operation.

Customer Review: Great All-In-One Printer. Very satisfied!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have had this printer/fax/scanner for about 2 months now, and I LOVE it. I had a desktop scanner in the past that was SOOO SLOWWWW and was surprised how fast this scanner worked. At first I thought I had done something wrong because it scanned so fast.

I have also used the Fax feature a couple of times. I'm not a big faxer, but have been very satisifed with the faxes I have sent. In case you are wondering, you do not have to have a dedicated fax line for this. I have it plugged into my phone line and you just have to make sure no one is using the phone when you are faxing.

I was very impressed with the quality of the few photos I have printed. I do not like to print from home because it can suck up the ink, but it still does a good job.

The only thing I would say I wasn't crazy about is the size of the printer. It takes up a good portion of my desk. Make sure you have room for it.

All-in-All -- I'm more than satisfied with my purchase and would definitely recommend to someone looking for an All-in-One Machine.

Customer Review: A great solution for a great price.

I have wanted an all-in-one for quite some time, and needed to wait for an old (Lexmark) prineter to die. I have owned HP, Canon and Lexmark printers in the past, and Canon and Epson scanners.

We picked this unit based in part on consumer reports information, as well as some online reviews (thank you Amazon audience).

I have used it for all of the major functions now and they have worked flawlessly.

I use it for copying and printing mostly, and will use it more heavily for scanning in the future. The document feeder works great (first unit I've had with one).

One major advantage that Canon has over it's cometitors is the separate color ink refills. Think about it this way, you waste a lot of ink if you have to change the cartridge just because the cyan is out, when you may have plenty of magenta or yellow left. Using a Canon will show how you do end up replacing them at different times, and getting more out of your ink. (I hadn't seen anybody else harp on this, so I thought I'd add it).
