Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Canon Pixma MP530 Office All-In-One Inkjet Photo PrinterCustomer Review: Mostly very pleased Summary: 5 Stars
I love my new Canon printer. It is all the ad said it was.
The only problem I had was one of the ink wells came damaged in the box. It would not snap into the ink head because the little plastic clip was broken off.
I notified [...] and they immediately sent me an entire new unit.
They made it very easy to make the return as I had the option for UPS to do a pickup at my home. All of the labels and paper work were emailed to me and easy to understand. All the email correspondence was answered in a timely and courteous manner.
The one thing I would have liked was to have been able to talk via phone to an associate. There was some minunderstanding in a few of the emails and it was frustrating to not be able to actually talk to an associate.
I looked everywhere but could not find a phone number to call.
Overall, I was very pleased with my purchase and the return policy. I would definiely purchase from [...] again, and would recommend them to my family and friends.
Customer Review: All In One Photo Printer with Fax Summary: 5 Stars
Before I buy I do my homework and this printer definitely delivers it's moneys worth and then some. I'm not supper savvy on the FAX part but I have been able to both receive and send faxes with relative ease. The scanner is wonderful and comes with some really good applications that convert scaned pages into text. The only but is that you should use windows to print photos. Because the cannon program just doesn't cut it in the photo department. The scanner does really beautiful copies of already printed photos. It's up to you what quality and how much hard drive space you want to use for the scanned photos. This is a wonderful printer and comes with the first cartiges of ink. But you will need to buy the large black one more often than the color ones. So my advice is buy extra and shop for them as well. Plus the samples are really small, 3x5 so if you plan on printing photos right away buy paper as well. Plus it does not come with the high speed cable. I had two already so I didn't need to buy one but you should keep this in mind.
Customer Review: Fantastic Printer! Summary: 5 Stars
I only just installed and started using this printer -- (was waiting to use up every drop of the ink in my last and final Epson printer) -- and I really love it. It's a very high-quality piece of equipment at a low price. I love that it has a second paper cassette, meaning I don't have to manually change paper types, and a feed switch right on the front that tells it which paper tray to use. The printer is quiet, prints wonderfully, and I am extremely happy with it. I haven't hooked up the fax yet -- and I probably won't because I always seem to conflicts between phone lines/answering machines/DSL/fax operations. But no matter, because I rarely send faxes anymore and never receive them. They could do away with that function on this machine and I'd still be extremely happy with it.
I love its other functions as well -- reduce/enlarge, image and exposure quality, and the two-sided printing. These are features usually reserved for far more expensive printers. So I'm happy as a clam!
Customer Review: quick and quiet Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this all-in-one after my Epson CX5400 died - just stop spitting out ink, despite wasting money on new cartridges. I've owned Espons for my personal office use for several years, because I was so impressed with how well they work with printing photos. Unfortunately, the cheaper ink jets were extremely noisy and very slow. I read some reviews on the Canon printers and decided to take a shot. This is a true bargain, with fax, scanner, and printer. The quality of print is much better than my old Epson and the sound level is down at least 40 decibels - its very quiet. It is also considerably faster. I would estimate it is averaging 10 pages a minute (compared to about 2 or 3 with the Epson!). It is also quite stylish. I've used it for about a month and absolutely no troubles. I've only printed photos on plain paper (research papers with images), but I can see that this is doing a much better job than the CX5400. This is a very capable machine, and for the price, exceptional quality.
Customer Review: Pixma mp530 printer Summary: 5 Stars
Don't let the few negative reviews scare you. I pondered whether to go ahead with buying this printer. I like the ability to print both sides of a page without having to keep placing another page in the printer. I was amazed at the quality of a picture I printed. All the other printing I have done to date has been outstanding. I am still learning all the "ins and outs" of the machine as I explore the attributes, (as I have only had this printer less than a month)but I give it a positive review. Since I have a laser fax machine, I won't be using that part of this printer, but it does come with a fax setup.
Prior to this printer I had the Epson all in one which I also loved until after just one year, it stopped printing and the no amount of cleaning the heads worked. The same Epson ink problem that so many people complain about. I hope trying the Canon Pixma MP530 won't end that way.
At least the Pixma MP530 has a print head that can be replaced if it jams.
