Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Canon Pixma MP610 Photo All-In-One Inkjet Printer (2180B002)

Customer Review: Great All-In-One Printer
Summary: 5 Stars

This Canon printer works exactly as advertised. I purchased it after researching "best buy" recommendations by several magazines and web sites. This product was listed practically everywhere. I now know why. I've had it for over a month - no problems and it is quick with sharp copy and pictures. I have a Canon photo printer and I can't tell the difference in the photos - and the printed text is better than on a photo printer. Scanning and copying are a breeze. And I should mention that the scanning software is very easy to use. I did read that some folks felt it was rather large. Actually, I found the size to be about the same as my photo printer and not too large for my space. Lastly, I want to congratulate Canon for making all of their ink cartridges "see through." You really do know when you are out of ink.

Customer Review: Perfect Printer
Summary: 5 Stars

I am replacing an Epson printer/scanner, and the Canon MP610 beats it hands down. My primary reason for getting rid of the Epson was the cost of the ink - I was spending WAYYYY too much money on ink cartridges that only lasted a short while. The MP610 has better print quality and is much more thrifty because of lower ink costs. Scanning quality is excellent, but I had no complaints about this on the Epson. The best feature of the MP610 is two sided printing - saves paper.

My only complaint is that they went way overboard on the software - five separate programs, and each one put an icon on the desktop (which were promptly deleted). This is very user un-friendly in my opinion, there is no reason for a printer to clutter up your system like this.

Customer Review: Very good printer
Summary: 5 Stars

I researched printers for a long time before deciding on the Canon Pixma MP610. It had the best features for my price range. It prints really fast. The scanning feature is really good too, it scans 4800 x 9600 resolution, and that's pretty good for the price I paid. I also like to 2 different paper feeders, 1 on top and 1 at the bottom. The 2 inch display screen makes looking through your pictures off your memory cards easy, and 1 of the biggest reasons I baught this printer, is the deuplexing feature, you can set it on automatic deuplexing, and it'll print on both sides of the paper without you having to flip the paper around manually, and that saves a lot of paper and time.

I recommend this printer to everyone, you wont be disappointed...

Customer Review: Amazing All-In-One for the Home Office
Summary: 5 Stars

I use this Canon Pixma MP610 in my home office and have done so for about 6 months, I've found the device to be worth every penny I paid for it and more. It allows me to effortlessly copy, print, scan and it has many of the advanced setting of a printer double it's price. The good thing is these settings are automatically set, but can be tooled around with if the user desires to do so. I'm still on my original ink cartridges, with the exception of black which I just replaced, and have found the device pays for itself with its reliability and time-saving features. When compared to other devices which may or may not have these features, and usually end up breaking in about a year (see anything by HP or Lexmark) there is really no comparison.

Customer Review: Also consider the MP520
Summary: 5 Stars

The MP520 is very similar to MP610:

1) About $100 less cost.
2) 4 lb lighter and slightly smaller.
3) Half the resolution but well enough to most users.
4) Only one big pigmented black ink (a good point to me).
5) Almost as fast, 30/20 vs. 31/24 PPM.
6) Cannot be modified to do CD/DVD printing.
7) No automatic duplexing (manual only, good enough).
8) Easily find one in a local Walmart.

Both are the top 3 to consider. The 3rd is the MX300; it even does fax (supporting VOIP fax!!!) for only $58 from Walmart, but uses integrated ink cartridges though. The MP520 does everything for me for $100 less and should get the good reviews and attention it deserves like MP610.
