Setting up was great. Unbelievalbly accurate start up instructions. Step by step, and nothing was missed. For that alone I give it 4 stars.
It does everything I want, and the [...] rebate I got for buying through Amazon made this the perfect multi purpose printer. Also, I just bought a Canon camera, so printing directly from the camera is a breeze.
This is my second Canon multipurpose printer. The first one is 9 years old and still works fine, but not with Windows Vista, and since the photo printing technology has improved so much, it was time to retire the old boy.
One downside: My old Canon All-in-One had onboard faxing. I REALLY miss that.

I've been using the Pixma MP610 for about six weeks and am thoroughly impressed with this product. I've extensively used both HP and Epson printers in the past and this Canon definitely surpasses both in speed and color clarity for photo printing. Remarkably, it's been more frugal in the use of ink than any of the other printers I've had. Scanning and copying are a breeze with the intuitive Pixma controls. I particularly like the scanning options where you can customize via the printer's driver on your PC. I purchased this on Amazon when it was on special (before Christmas) for less than $100. I needed a printer that would provide high quality black and white text as well as an occasional true color printout for reviewing graphic designs. Economy for ink usage is important as some printers seem to drink ink like water, and I also needed the capacity for scanning and printing color photos. The MP 610 printer allows replacement for individual color cartridges, uses ink judiciously, prints pages with crisp text and provides true color copies. As a home user, I'm entirely satisfied with my purchase and highly recommend the printer for its quality and versatility. After having gone through several HP all-in-one inkjets over the last few years, and much frustration. I tried the latest Canon. I paid a little more, and I was not comfortable to pay more for another HP. What an awesome machine the MP610 is. Excellent print quality, smooth printing mechanism, top-notch fit and finish, underneath drawer paper tray is a great touch, duplex printing executes without skipped pages or mishandling paper. I think the way they designed the underneath paper tray has a lot to do with how consistently the pages come out one at a time and precisely aligned. This is a well thought out inkjet design, and should be worth your consideration. I'm much happier!Customer Review: Excellent

I have had this printer for 4 weeks. This product is truly excellent value. The colors are vivid, prints very fast, is very easy to use, especially the 'easy-scroll wheel'. It was extremely easy to set up, and I like the software that came with it. I have not used the memory card feature or my camera with a usb cable yet, but I like to be able to use the printer without my computer. It scans fast as well. Just don't forget to buy a usb cable. I read the reviews before I purchased it, and so I was prepared. It also has a cassette tray, as well as the rear tray - which is so handy if you keep different size/types of paper in each one - just a push of a button to use either one.
