I use a printer a LOT. I am involved in many community projects (Signs and posters), have a big family (photos..11 grand children!), do a lot of creative work (greeting cards, craft projects) and would rather keep recipes in a box than on the computer. Without a doubt, this is the best printer I have had for years! YES it is ink efficient, it prints photos that are as nice as any lab and it is way way easier to use than many other printers. Cannon is an excellent brand, although this printer is slightly harder to navigate through projects, than my Lexmark. Overall I would have to say the quality of the prints are first class. I think the color values are better than other printers I have had (Lexmark, HP)or used. It is more expensive to buy ink, but with high quality performance and I don't mind paying extra for ink. I also like the "quiet" feature, why would anyone want to hear the printing?, I find it annoying, it's great!Customer Review: Excellent All in One Office Printer

This product is fantastic. First of all, I love Canon for making things so user friendly. Everything populates or is prompted from the printer or your computer (Mac user) so it was a no brainer getting this set up and in use. I am so much more productive with this device in my home office and I highly recommend this to anyone looking for the same.
Make sure to get quality paper for your printing so you can take advantage of the color printing of this machine.

I actually bought this printer used as it compatible with my Mac. I simply love the multi-functions. I am able to scan images then email them as a zip file instead of faxing which makes it more secure. You can still fax the old-fashioed way but the scan feature makes it so much easier. The quality of the print is excellent & you can make double sided copies which I often need. This printer is one of the best I have ever owned. It does all it is advertized to do in a very efficient manner. It is a little large but since it displaces a scanner and fax machine there is a net gain in space. Also, since it has individual ink cartridges I am able to refill them many times over. I liked it so much I bought the newer version for my son when he needed a new printer and he is equally elated with his. Overall this was a great purchase.
