Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Canon Pixma MX850 Office All-In-One Inkjet Printer (2436B002)Customer Review: Very early yet but Summary: 5 Stars
I have only had this machine for two weeks so far but I absolutely adore it. I really only needed the MP620, but after trying, and failing, to get an in-store MP620 to read that it had paper in the rear tray, I went with this one. And I'm so glad I did, as I have used the ADF a number of times so far and it's been fantastic. Set up was very simple, but it did take a long time. We use it with a wireless router and are loving wireless printing and scanning. It also has, easily, the best scan and best print quality of all recent Canons we looked at, including our recent MP460 which gave all color prints an ugly red tone. I don't know about ink usage or durability, but I'm very happy so far. I bought it on sale and suggest you do, too - $200 is a lot for this kind of machine.
Pros: Easy to use, Fast Print Speed, Sharp Tones & Colors
Cons: Heavy/Bulky
Customer Review: An upgraded/cost restrained MP830 Summary: 5 Stars
The Canon MX850 is really an updated Canon MP830 multifunction printer. Minor improvements in software, faxing, networking from the MP830, which I owned previously. It seems to do a slightly better job lining up paper and functioning when doing two sided paper printing. It prints excellent photos. The scanning quality, and I can't seem to put my finger on this, seems to have dropped slightly from the excellent quality of the MP830 .It is a slightly noisier but still acceptable functioning machine but I suspect they went through a cost cutting redesign of the printer mechanism. Only time will tell if it has the durability of the MP830. The printer ink costs are about average/slightly below average and we all hate paying for those costs. Overall I am pleased with this machine and would rate it in the upper 25% of the machine I have used.
Customer Review: Pixma 850 Perfect addition to Home Office Summary: 5 Stars
Great machine. It replaced a HP all in one which caused no end of trouble and a Brother Fax machine. The Pixma 850 installed without a hitch and finally we can send and receive Fax with little effort. I was amazed at the photo print (4X6 paper sample came in box) using just a SD card in the card slot, selected a photo and printed in color. WOW! was a great print without yet being hooked up to the Vista computer. We avoided 860 because we have trouble using wireless devices.
We have had trouble learning the front vs the back loading and verifying with place what paper was coming from. We plan to use the rear loader for envelopes and photo prints and use the cassette below in front for printing from the computer, copying or fax. Thanks Canon and Amazon.
Customer Review: Fantastic Family Printer Summary: 5 Stars
Love this printer! It's fast, prints a 4x6 picture in about 5 seconds and double sided page w/15% fill in about 10 seconds. The photos came out better than my old Epson Stylus Photo printer. Very quiet for both scanning and printing. With fax and one touch copies with duplex. The network works great, setup in about 30 min. That includes setting up from box to initial driver and apps. The network printing is a life saver, it allowed all four of my computers to print, scan, and fax to a single device. Print and scan quality are excellent with very good color matching.
The vendor shipped it with care and arrived within 2 weeks of ordering.
Extremely impressed and satisfied!
Thank you
Customer Review: Pixma MX850 a Home Run Summary: 5 Stars
Having never owned a Canon before and hearing mixed reviews I decided to give it a shot and bought the MX850. The canon was easy to setup using a USB cable to connect it to my wireless network. The overall setup process was easy. The prints are clear and defined. Photos come out crisp. The color and graphics are as good to any HP I've seen. The scanner works great and theres plenty of functions and features I'll probably never use. I am not a high end printer user. For a normal Joe like me with a little extra budget I believe the MX850 was worth it. I hate complicated electronics and this printer has been very easy to work with. I'm not saying it's not sophisticated, it just simply works for a novice like me. Thanks Canon.
