I installed the printer on my XP system. It worked flawlessly. I then up graded my system to Vista and re-installed the software. Again, it works flawlessly. Check out the specs for the printer at the Canon web site. They are all accurate. Photo quality is outstanding. Installation is a snap. First be sure to remove ALL the packing and protective foam and tape (there is a lot that is somewhat hidden). With the USB cable unplugged, install the software. Then connect the USB cable. The software will take you through this process step-by-step. Once this is complete, setup your fax info. I am connected directly from the printer to the PC, but you can also network the printer. Bottom line - great bang for the buck.Customer Review: Great value, very reliable

I have two PIXMA printers and they are consistently reliable and produce good results - no malfunction yet after three years.
I like the fact that the ink cartridges are sold by color and that the ink print head is separate from the ink tanks. I've had too many HP cartridges go bad before running out of ink to buy another HP ink-jet.
Print speed is very good and the duplex unit is really useful (though duplex printing does slow the printer down significantly). The fax works well and the scan quality is very good. The instruction manual isn't the most intuitive or well written, but so far that's the only negative I can think of. I'd happily buy another Canon PIXMA printer.

I purchased the Canon Pixma MX850 printer a month ago and have been very happy since. I had been a staunch HP fan, but I guess I didn't know what I had been missing. This machine prints fast and the output looks great.
I have two daughters that are very computer savy and they print a lot of things. The ink seems to be holding out well and is easy to change. The printer installed very easily and with no problems. The scanner is also great. I also had an HP scanner and have had problems with the SW for that. The Canon worked very well and the scan images were very clear. Lastly, I liked the SW that came with the Canon. It was superior to the HPs that I had purchased in the past.

It's rare that you come across a product that actually lives up to the marketing hype (and I'm in marketing...so I know!!). Being a small business owner, it was important that the all-in-one I purchased was everything it promised to be and more. Although the first machine I purchased through Amazon was broken, I must APPLAUD Amazon for their quick remedy in providing me with a replacement within 24 hours. The print quality is excellent (although I have yet to print photos) and fast! The control panel is very intuitive and this machine has certainly lived up to the Canon brand. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to a small-, medium-, or large-sized business. You won't be disappointed!Customer Review: Prints awesome pics! Easy to use.

I just bought this printer today, got a better price at Best Buy. I've never had a printer before except using friend's, so I'm a beginner at this. It was a little overwhelming at first, but the directions and software were easy to follow. Took a couple hours to get everything set up but I read through the whole manual too. The software that's included is neat, makes it easy to print anything. I just printed my first picture and it looks great! Not grainy at all and looks like a professional photo. This printer has lots of cool options and is fast. I am very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend to anyone who wants an all-in-one that prints great pics.
