Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Canon Pixma Pro9000 Professional Large Format Inkjet Printer (9995A001)Customer Review: Purchased Based on Reviews Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased the Canon PIXMA Pro9000 based on consumer reviews just like this one. This photo printer has exceeded my expectations. The quality is SUPERB, and there is NO drying time and you don't have to worry about getting fingerprints on your photos - ever! I was a little hesitant about the price and the fact that I wasn't sure if it was Vista compatible. The set-up was easy and it IS Vista compatible. I also LOVE the fact that you can actually see how much ink you have left in the ink tanks. I've printed at least two dozen 8 x 10s since I received it and still have plenty of ink left in the tanks. And, because there are 8 ink tanks, you only have to replace the ones that are empty - not all of them at once. Believe me, this printer is WORTH EVERY PENNY!
Customer Review: As a serious photographer I want to tell you .... Summary: 5 Stars
that the pro 9000 is an excellent dye ink printer. After using a Canon i9100 for two years with very good results and NO clogging I decided to look at the pro 9000 to see if adding 2 inks and increasing the # of nozzles would make a visible difference in quality. It did. I do not print in B and W, and I am not overly concerned about prints lasting for 5 generations so this was the printer of choice. The 13x19 prints are clear, vivid and show a smooth transition between colors. When printing multiple prints colors remain consistent from print to print.
If you are a pro or serious amateur then be should you consider the 9000.
I have sold many prints using the i9100 so expect the same for the pro 9000. It is money well spent.
Customer Review: Canon Pixma Pro9000 Printer Summary: 5 Stars
I was waiting with anticipation for the arrival of this printer, and can say to all readers that it was worth every second. We have a small studio doing portraits and nature photography, and it has been in use in our studio for about one month with great results. This printer produces professional quality prints without effort. The operation is smooth and competent. We have fed all types of papers through it from Canon, Kodak, Ilford, HP and Staples. The output is seamless and consistent, and the 13 x 19 prints are breathtaking. I am not a nuts and bolts type of person, so I cannot speak to the specifications. I am results-oriented and have an eye for what is acceptable or outstanding. I can state that I am very pleased with this product.
Customer Review: Architectural Office Use Summary: 5 Stars
This will be very short, however I felt compelled to write something just because of how happy I am with this printer. We have an HP also which does the job pretty good with the occational paper jam. I got this one because the reviews on the new HP 13x19 printers are scattered but the reviews for Canon seem to be solid and I would have to agree 100% for good reason. We print about 5000 sheets a month in all sizes and the Canon Pro9000 handles it effortlessly with the best color I have seen around. Our ink replacement bill is also not as high as the HP we use as well which makes for an excellent printer. I don't have details but just wanted to voice my 2 cents in case you are on the fence as which 13x19 printer to buy.
Customer Review: It's HUGE!! Summary: 5 Stars
I did a significant amount of research before settling on the Pro9000. I knew from the customer reviews here, that this printer would be larger than I would normally expect. What NONE of them said was that it does not have in internal paper cartridge. Because of this, to print on the 9000 you must open and fully extend the front catch tray and the paper feed support in the rear of the machine. This adds a startling 23 inches (13 front and 10 in back)to the footprint.
That being said, the print quality is well worth the added real estate on my desk top. Additionally, the printing it is unbelievably quiet and quick. Just make sure you have enough room in your stable for this amazing work horse.
