I had been designated to research and choose a printer for our Church Library. This iP4500 was highly recommended on several sites, including Canon. My Canon printer at home has amazed me for years! The price, came up as a 'special' at Amazon, right in the midst of decision making! Free shipping that day clinched the decision. A great addition to our chuch Library. Thank you Amazon.
P.S. Unit arrived in just 3 days-even on a postal holiday [came UPS] answering the question--is "FREE" shipping slower!!!! NOT!!! TY again.

I own one, and I've bought half a dozen for clients [I run a computer and photographic services company]. Lovely printing, fast, good job on photos [use Canon paper and inks], economical [for a small inkjet].
One gotcha: software/driver installation may hang up under Windows Vista. Solution: turn off User Access Control [UAC] during the install. Then you can turn it back on after the install. Google the search phrase 'UAC turn off Vista' to find out how to do that if you don't know.

I bought the printer roughly a month ago to only print black and white pages. Its speed amazes me and the print is very crisp and profesional looking. I'm also happy that the canon unlike others does not install a million applications for the printer to work. It is very sharp looking but be awear it is very large.
I have yet to print a color photo, i just don't see the point in it. But its nice to know that, anything i would like I can do.

I owned Canon ip6600D, ip6700D and they were very good and now this fantastic printer.
It prints gorgeous photos and good text and graphics. I use it as my primary printer for everyday use printing photos, text, graphics and everything.
My only complaint is that is does not have the LCD screen and memory card slots like my ip6600D and ip6700D had. I do miss those features, but this unit makes up for it with the extra speed.
Highly recommended.

I have a 7.1 megapixels camera and have taken many photos. I have started to scrapbook and needed a good photo printer but wanted versatility to print other things. This prints excellent copies of my photos, the images are clean and clear. The only difference from bringing it to a photo center is the cost, it is less for me now. I also love the duplexing capability. It will print a 2 sided document with out me having to put the paper back through, again saving me paper and money.
