This is an excellent photo printer. I have printed over 400 Color and Black & White photo's in the past three weeks. Mostly 4x6", but some 8x10's also. I would rate the color and overall quality as Excellent. This unit replaced my Canon i860. The ink tanks in this printer last longer than those in the i860 and the quality is noticebly better. An added bonus is the double feed tray. It is nice not having to switch paper if I need to print something on regular paper.Customer Review: Canon Pixma printer

I absolutely love this printer. I've had it for over a year, now, and my only problem with it is that the ink cartridges that you buy at Walmart won't work in it. I have to buy the ink at Staples or order it from Canon or Amazon.com, which is a little inconvenient, but the printer is worth it. It prints great photos and I love the two paper trays, where I can store both regular paper and photo paper and it also makes it easy to do 2-sided printing.Customer Review: Great Printer Great Price

Great inexpensive printer. Canon has excellent quality. Great text printing, better than I imagined. To my eyes, it is as good as a laser, if you use inkjet paper. Plus color capability. I Have not printed enough to say if it is expensive for ink, but the printer is practically free at this price! Photos looks great, but I use it mostly for all around printing. My wife has run this printer mercilessly and it hasn't missed a beat. Because she uses it so much, I purchased a CISS for it so she won't run out of ink. The best part is that it is about nine times less expensive and it prints exactly like it did with the cartridges.
It feeds with either from the top or with the push of a button, it will load from the lower cassette. It has never once jammed or fed incorrectly. A truly wonderful printer.

This so far has been a great printer, I really like the dual feed capabilities. I keep photo paper in the back and regular 8x11 in the front cartridge and with a touch of a button select which tray I want to print from.
NOTE( the printer does not come with the USB cable) I wish AMAZON pointed this out when I purchased it!!!! I set up the printer one rainy Saturday morning and then had to run out the Best Buy for a $35 USB cable...
