I am an unsophisticated camera user. I bought this camera for my grandson's 8th grade graduation and took pictures with it throughout the 2 1/2 hours of ceremonials and reception. I handed it to him with his class pics within at the end. It was easy to use and batteries were still going strong at the end with a lot of on/off switching during the evening. I don't know about you...but when I'm on vacation or at a party, I actually want to be in the moment, and not fussing around with complicated photography equipment simply so I can impress my friends with how much I spent.
This Canon PowerShot camer really fills the bill. It takes good picutres, with ease of use and is small enough to take with you on any vacation with no hassle at all.

This was a birthday gift for my wife who is not a "photographer," but just a "snap-shooter." The ease of use and picture quality are perfect for her, and for me, as well. The IS is very effective. It is much more than she expected, but not as intimidating as she worried it would be. Firstly I'm not a professional photographer as may be able to tell from my choice of purchase, therefore the quality of pics this camera produces are just fine for me. I'm coming from a Kodak easyshare 6.3 megapix that got broken.I hardly even use the darn thing but i have it when i need it and it does a great job. Best batteries yet! I'm tired of loosing the special cable necessary to charge the battery for camera. This is one of the few camera's I found that uses standard AA batteries. Doesn't matter if I'm traveling or at a school event, I'm not looking for an outlet to charge or a converter. I can carry extra batteries with me. Change 'em out and I'm good to go.
