Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Canon PowerShot A480 10 MP Digital Camera with 3.3x Optical Zoom and 2.5-inch LCD (Deep Red)Customer Review: Great Shirt-pocket Camera! Summary: 5 Stars
We've had three other Cannon cameras. Eventually, we end up getting them wet or smashing the display in accidents. This time, the one we smashed was the shirt-pocket sized Elph. So we wanted to replace it with another tiny one.
This one's better. The menus are better organized than our older A630 (We *love* the display on that camera!) and the "Super Macro" feature is amazing!
We prefer the newer cameras that use AA batteries to the older ones that used their own special batteries. When shooting flash pictures two AA's don't last very long, but there isn't room for four of them in this little camera. Oh well, that's why we have a bigger camera in addition to this little guy.
We think the picture quality, the ease of use, the portability and the price of this camera make it a great package. If you can only afford one camera, get this one.
Customer Review: Canaon PowerShot A480 10 Summary: 5 Stars
I love this camera. It takes nice pictures and has nice capabilities that I have not used yet. I purchased it for basic picture taking. My only complaint is the power button and taking picture button on too close together. I kept turning the camera off at first. It took a while for me to get use to the buttons being so close together. I am still exploring the camera's features. It has a lot of memory, but I did purchase the additional memory disk. I have not used the additional memory disk yet. If you are looking for more range/zoom then this camera may not be for you. The zoom is great for intimate pictures but not if you are trying to focus farther out, i.e. concerts, weddings and you are not up front.
Customer Review: Great camera! Summary: 5 Stars
I just received my camera today and I was impressed. It's so tiny and has so much in the way of capabilities. All I wanted it for was to take pictures of restaurants when I eat out (for Yelp). Without adjusting the white balance or anything, every picture has been pefect. I have three other Canon cameras: a G2 which cost me about $800 when new, a D60, and a 20D. All of them are too large to lug around with me, while the A480 goes in my shirt pocket. I uploaded some pictures, take a look.
Customer Review: Good budget camera Summary: 5 Stars
this is a solid quality budget camera. For under $100, you get a camera that takes high-resolution (10megapixels) photos. Response time is however slow as it takes many seconds to recharge the flash and be ready for the next shot. There is no view finder other than the LCD screen. However, back to my previous point, this is a basic low-budget camera so you would need to manage your expectations. You get great pictures, easy of use, and not a lot of bells and whistles.
Customer Review: A gift Summary: 5 Stars
This camera was given as a gift to our daughter to take pictures of our grandson. She seems to love the camera and uses it daily to take and share pictures with our family. I have not personally used this camera, but judging by how happy she seems to be with the camera, it was a tremendous gift that has made her very happy!
I did research this item first and I'll have to say that it seemed to be a very high quality item, at a very reasonable price.
