Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Canon PowerShot A560 7.1MP Digital Camera with 4x Optical Zoom

Customer Review: A great take anywhere P&S
Summary: 5 Stars

OK, maybe I don't want to take it where it's excessively wet; I hear the digital cameras don't like water, but the A560 has been flawless, lightweight, and a great camera to always have with you. I'm still a film fan, and shoot pro film in serious SLRs, but some excellent shots have come from the A560 (a last minute trip over to the coast yielded some perfect shots of starfish I would not have otherwise captured!).

With a 2GB chip, I don't think I'm likely to run out of storage on a hike (closing in on 6000 pictures possible on the lower res settings). I did find it depleting the regular alkaline batteries pretty fast, so I got rechargeable NiCads and have very pleased with those.

The price is great, and I've used Canon cameras for years. This is simply a very fine choice for a small, yet quality, digital P&S.

Customer Review: It does more than just getting the job done.
Summary: 5 Stars

The Canon PowerShot A560 is definitely on the higher end of point-and-shoot cameras. I have been using this model for over a year now and it does not displease. I have compared this aside many other similar and popular brands including Kodak and Nikon. The camera is better not only in quality but in other things such as features, flexibility, and compatibility. ZoomBrowserEX, the program that comes with the camera is a neat, simple-to-use program. You can also step it up a level and use it for more advancement using CHDK, an open source program made especially for Canon cameras. Canon overall has the best cameras and finer cut lenses to help you get the shot you want, when you want it. If you aren't looking to fork out $300-$800 dollars for a professional camera the Canon PowerShot A560 can make a good advanced camera.

Customer Review: Digital camera
Summary: 5 Stars

This is my second point and shoot camera and I am very impressed with the speed and acuracy. I was taking pictures of my son and his cousins jumping off of the bed and I didnt get a single blury shot. They were in mid air when the photo was taken. I have had this camera for about three weeks and it does not seem to waste batteries quickly. I have shot over 1000 pictures with two rechargable batteries. I like the fact that this camera uses AA batteries because you could just pop in new batteries instead of waiting for the camera to recharge. I can take pictures very fast without using the flash, but when I turn on the flash it takes a couple of seconds for the camera to be ready for another pic. But for a point and shoot that is to be expected. I reccomend buying this camera.

Customer Review: Biggest Bang for your Buck!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have had my cannon for a little over a week I take tons of pic's of my son @ baseball games and soccer the continous photo option takes great photos. This camera starts up faster than any other digital I have owned this is my fourth digital first cannon boy I regret not getting a cannon the first three times the features that are aval for the money far exceed any other digital cam out there, small fits perfect in your hand, huge 2.5in screen, crystal clear pics and great movies as well. Does make a little noise on top speed ISO but hey for 140 bucks you can't beat it. So stop searching and just buy it I am getting 2 more 1 as a gift and the other as a backup just in case you just can't beat this price for the quality of camera

Customer Review: Great A560= 2.5 inch screen; A550= 2 inch screen...
Summary: 5 Stars

Get the A560! It has a 2.5 inch LCD; the A550 in comparison has a 2-inch screen. BIG difference. They're similar in price too- sometimes the A560 is even cheaper! I got the A560 and I love it...

If you have a MMC card reader for your computer (like me), and some photo-editing software (like Photoshop), you really won't need the included software for this camera. Still, as a beginner, I really needed to read the instructions a little in order to use this product for the 1st time. In minutes I was taking my first pictures. I certainly needed photo-editing software to improve brightness, contrast, size, etc.

All in all, this is everything I need in a camera & more. I highly recommend it!
