Just got back from vacation and am totally satisfied with how this camera performed. One set of rechargeable batteries that we didn't have to recharge and one memory card lasted a whole week of movies and video shots. We lost our first digital camera and I am so glad. This performs so much better. Larger view screen for both taking and viewing pictures, love the zoom, quicker shutter speed so we didn't miss the dolphin shots, small enough for a pocket or purse. Targus DCCP00 Small Camera Case fits perfectly and has handy strap or belt loop. Sony Quick Battery Charger with 4 AA Ni-MH Rechargeable Batteries works well with this camera as well.Customer Review: Buy this camera

This camera was a gift for my not-so-tech-savvy Mom, and she loves it. She asked for the earlier (and coincidentally) more expensive model (a520, I think) after reading about its rating in the Consumer Reports book, but I read some reviews about this one and decided to buy it. Amazon has the best price for this camera, not to mention you do not pay tax or shipping. The display is large and the camera is fairly compact and easy to use. I highly recommend this camera over other Canon models in price, ease of use, and overall picture quality (in taking regular non-artistic photos). When I need to replace my camera, I will buy a Canon.

I gave this camera to my son for Christmas (not "holidays", but Christmas!). He's an "outdoor television personality" and wanted something to augment the video portions of his projects. He first used the camera to record images in support of a brook trout ice fishing segment. The bright colors of a brookie are difficult to credibly capture anywhere; but shooting against a backdrop of white, bright snow with little time to make adjustments is a good test for any camera. The images were so beautiful that he was able to sell two to a calendar publisher. The stills will be in the video segment as well. He is satisfied and I am happy.Customer Review: Love it!

After lots and lots of research I settled in to purchase the Canon A560. I had a Nikon 3.1 MP camera for years and loved it and wanted to get another one but I wanted a digital camera with an optical viewfinder at a good price. In this style of compact camera, Nikon only had one choice and it was way more than I wanted to pay. I found the Canon on Amazon and decided to give it try because the price was so good. I'm so glad I did. Camera is perfect and has great features. If you just want a really good camera that takes good pictures, easy to use, for a great price, get it. You won't be disappointed. My daughter looked at a lot of cameras before choosing this one. She was going to Europe for a month and wanted a nice camera, but not one that was so expensive that her trip would be ruined if she lost it. When she came home, she said that she made the right choice. She used a lot of other people's camera's, and they used hers as well. (Taking photos of each other.) She said she never used another camera that she liked nearly as well, and people always commented about how great her camera was. And, the pictures are great, which is also good! Even after being home for 3 weeks, she is still commenting on how much she loves this camera!
