Pros:
- Great picture quality especially if you use the right settings and modes. I generally use P mode and rarely use flash
- Great for people who have kids. Even if the kids play with it or worse drop it you wont be sweating.
- Cool color and design
- Underwater pictures good, movies great
- Sturdy built, will likely last a long time
- Good battery life, lasts at least 48 hours of continuous still photography. Plenty of standby time
Cons:
- I used to take picture in the auto focus alot. Gives you average to crapy pics in AF. This camera not good for people who want to use it only in auto focus mode. Be creative, use other modes. This camera will get you amazing results
- The accessory kit is very expensive $125+ . I would love to buy it to change the color plates on the camera but I doubt its worth the price.
- Average performance in low light condition. Again thats too much to ask for from a point and shoot camera.
Conclusion:
- Great camera for people with kids.
- I would have given it 3-4 stars, but I learned some basic tips on digital photography on Youtube and use the camera in P mode. Now I get great results (sometimes better than my DSLR!).
- A great accessory for everyday shooting, picnics, vacation etc.

Just returned from trip to st marteen and anguilla. We do a lot of snorkeling and was most excited to try out the camera. The D 10 worked great in the water. It took a while to figure out how to focus under water. But want I got used to the camera, I got great pictures. The picture quality was very good. I was able to take nice pictures in varying lighting conditions. Simply, I used the underwater program and used the zoom. It is best to be in front or the side of the fish or coral. One should avoid shooting down. The view finder is very clean and true. The camera is very easy to hold and use. It is easy to hold and still use your arms for swimming. I was very pleased with the picture quality outside of the water. The picture quality is better than by small point and shoot camera. I did not expect the quality to be as good as by Canon T1i SLR, but I would not take this camera to the beach or near water. I was very impressed with the video. Overall, this camera is a great product and good value. I did buy a non canon battery for far less than the canon product and it worked fine. I did buy the camera, the battery and flash card from Amazon. As always been my experience, I got good prices and my items were send and received in a short time frame. I have to talk about my Canon PowerShot D10. Almost a year old and I'm still very impressed. During a current trip to Maui I took quite few shots at a depth of 52 feet with my D10 (see why below); it is rated for 33 feet max depth. It was not my intention to beta test this camera but I was free dive turtle chasing to get the perfect shot. Depth was ranged by boat radar in a very well known area of 5caves/5graves, I asked the boat captain after coming back on board once I realized I went very deep. After reading about many flooded D10's leaking from the AV door, I sealed mine with silicone glue shortly after my purchase. The battery / SD card door was never implicated in the flooding. After a year of hearty use I am happy to report my beloved D10 is solid and dry. I dive without worries!!! I'm very confident in getting the best shots I can with it when I can't take the DSLR due to conditions. I have taken it to the ocean depths, boarding the highest mountain slopes of Tahoe and everywhere in between. The Canon PowerShot D10 is absolutely phenomenal; I just can't say enough good things about it. Above and below water it is a superb PS camera. Great image quality!!! Also my flickr page, [...]

I had pre-ordered a D10 as a gift for my wife. She hasn't had a good digital camera in a few years and has historically been pretty hard on them in the past. Tossing them into bags of stuff, dropping them off the kitchen table, etc. The D10 seemed ideal being waterproof and generally rugged. We've had the camera since it came out in May and absolutely love it! We've had it at the lake in wet situations without any problems. The picture quality has been great and the camera features are more than adequate for our needs. Some of the features have been difficult to discover and use, and my wife still gets confused about finding some settings sometimes. But overall, it's been one of the best digital cameras we've purchased in years.
About the only thing I can say against the D10 is Canon's ridiculous accessory kit. At $[...], it's almost half the price of the camera itself. For a couple plastic covers, accessory cords, and a camera case?! What in the world is Canon thinking pricing this accessory kit like that? At half that I wouldn't have given it a second thought and bought the accessory kit. But at Canon's price! NO THANKS! We found a small camera case that holds the camera nicely for a 1/3 of that price. Thanks for a great camera though. :-)

I bought this camera ive ever owned hands down! If you want an SLR your in the wrong section but you prolly are here to look for a good all around rugged camera. Not only does it take GREAT outdoor shots, but great pics under water, and video. I bought this for my trip to Hawaii and was the best money spent cause now i have so many wonderful, beautiful pictures, and videos of my trip. Its rather small, so i was surprised at some of the reviews saying its bulky, well ya if you compare it to those little pocket cameras that only have digital zoom. This thing is for the outdoorzy person, or even someone on a trip that wants great photos. The battery life was good, had it on the highest setting and took pics of everything, and by afternoon or eveing had to change it out, but I took pics of almost everything, being my first trip to Hawaii.. lol.. And took lots of underwater pics, and videos, never leaked and we went 20 to 30 feet down. Just read how to keep it leak proof, and take care of it, and it will work forever!
Ps, the video underwater is sweet, and it pics up sound as well, so when we were sucking down air scuba diving you can hear you breath, and the sound of my girl friend screaming when i handed her a sea star, this video is priceless to me now..!!
