Got this camera for a trip to the Galapagos to take underwater pictures. It arrived early in December when my roses were still blooming and it was snowing. Took the camera for a test drive and when out into the snow and snapped away. Great macro shots, not as much zoom as my Canon S5IS but more than adequate. Next test was using the movie mode to record my granddaughter's violin recital. Adequate pictures but next time will use a tripod.
Glad I purchased this camera and will be using it soon on my trip of a lifetime.
