I got this to supplement my Canon S2 IS, for times when I don't want to lug a bulky camera around. This camera put the fun back in picture taking! I think the image stabilization is much better than in my other Canon and the colors seem more vivid. The only time the larger camera is definitely better is the 12X optical zoom vs this little guy's 3X zoom. I like this camera so well I am buying one for my son whose camera recently died. The only annoying issue is that I paid $169 at Amazon 2 weeks ago and now it is $179. That doesn't seem fair.Customer Review: Great camera!

We bought this camera after our daughter played with our other Canon Elph at the beach and got sand stuck in the lens extender. We loved our other camera and really wanted to stay within the Canon family with our new one. Picture quality is excellent and the video feature saved us from buying a separate video camera. I especially love the zoom feature with videos (wasn't available on our old camera). All in all, it's a great price for a great camera. Tiny excellent camera with viewfinder and image stabilization. I first had a Canon 1000 which often got image blur and luckily I lost it and got the 1200 IS which takes much better pictures. In fact our family just purchased its third 1200IS. It would be hard to improve this camera. I load all my pictures with the SDcard. I could never get the Canon Software to load on either XP or Vista but you really do not need it. I highly recommend this camera. The pictures are excellent. I do love this camera, however I'm not a huge fan of the cropping option since I can't
find one. My other small complaint is the video, you can't hear any sound when you
replay a video from the camera. Slightly inconvienent however it sounds great once you
transfer the video onto your computer. I do love the size of the camera and most pictures
turn out great! The camera is also very easy to use and most settings are easy to change/figure
out.

A very capable camera for the price, and wonderful for on-the-go pictures. I previously owned the Canon SD 1000 and while I enjoyed the features it had, wished it included the image stabilization "IS" feature. The 1200 has IS, and it has made noticeable improvements on those quick shots. The camera takes wonderful pictures in a variety of light settings, and is incredibly easy to use. All in all, for the price, great camera and highly recommended.
