I really love the elph. It does a great job of automatically focusing, and it has a lot of different settings, such as portrait, manual, auto, digital macro, night snapshot, and kids&pets. The auto works great because it really knows when you do and don't need the flash. This is a way better camera than the exilim. This also has a very big screen, so you aren't squinting, trying to figure out which picture is which. The zoom is a little limited, though. But I still love it! I took a few pictures of snow, and it did a good job of seperating the colors from the snow. The colors come out sharp, and overall the camera is very sharp. Would reccomend this to any first-time buyers of of digital cameras. I have never owned a digital camera before and found this one very easy to figure out and use.Customer Review: The Camera I Reach For First

This is my everyday camera. It is easy to configure and fits nicely in my pocket. Canon sensors provide phenomenal clarity in all lighting conditions. I also own and love my Nikon D40, but this Canon is my go anywhere, convenient, light-weight workhorse. This is my second digital elph and I will continue to purchase Canons in the point-and-shoot form factor. The lack of a viewfinder should not be a concern for anyone considering this camera. The LCD is highly detailed and very large. Looking through a viewfinder almost seems alien to me now. I love being able to compose a shot without having the camera glued to my face. Being able to see what is happening through my eyes rather than a viewfinder, while positioning the camera is a beautiful thing.Customer Review: Great Little Camera

I have had this camera for about a year now and I am very happy with it. It is reliable and always does the job for me. I like the compact form.
The controls are intuitive, the menu system is easy to navigate. I am not a sophisticated photographer. That is; I don't use all of the bells and whistles that come with this camera, but I use a few and they are always easy to find.
The absolute best part of this camera is the 3" lcd. It is teriffic and I would not step back to anything smaller. I don't miss the optical view finder at all. It is easier composing my pictures in the LCD.
I do wish the battery would last a little longer but that is not enough of a flaw to keep me from giving this camera 5 stars.

This camera F'in rocks hardcore ! It's my first Canon and my first digital camera so maybe I'm just being goofy but there's a whole lot of options ,buttons to press, and you'll have to do some learning to figure it all out . . . Anyways . . . the 3inch screen is so awesome , I bought it as a location cam and right now all i've been doing is taking pictures of my cat and printing them out on the cannon selpy printer which is also way cool. That and it looks really cool just sitting on the coffee table. Those things they have it mounted on or to at the stores just do not do it any justice. Oh and one last thing not only was Amazon way cheaper then everyone else , I ordered it sunday mourning - got it wednesday ! This camera is absolutely amazing! It does everything you could possibly want, and more, in a small, durable, quick, point and shoot camera. The huge 3 inch screen is an added plus and allows you to easily review pictures and help focus when taking them. The buttons and scroll wheel are also very easy to use and are situated so that everything is right at your fingertips. The camera is super easy to use, right out of the box. I also purchased a 1GB memory card along with this camera, so not only does it work quickly and effectively, but it also holds more than 500 pictures! The pictures are also very clear and precise. This camera is guaranteed amazing, and I would recommend it to ANYONE looking to buy a digital camera!
