I bought this for my wife as a Christmas present and she loves it! We love the fact that it does 720p HD video and has HDMI so you can hook it straight up to the tv to watch your videos in High Def. It has some really nice features if you want to play with it a little to figure it out but just to point and shoot it's pretty straight forward without having to open the manual. This is the only camera that my husband and I use to capture the important moments of our baby's life. The quality of the pictures are excellent. It's flash speed is perfect to catch fast actions especially when the subject is not very still. The HD videos are much better than you would expect from such a compact camera. I bought this camera to take photos on a trip to Argentina a Uruguay. I wanted something I could take everywhere, easily and fit in my pocket. The SD780IS was perfect for that. It's almost as thin as my iPhone and I couldn't be happier with the quality of pics it took. Easy to learn to you, very small and convenient, beautifully designed. I bought this camera to replace my Kodak 10 MP digital camera. So far I love it. The pictures are great...even when I crop them and make an 8x10 from the cropped photo they are still clear. I use the camera very often and carry it with me and I have been pleasantly surprised by the battery life and how rarely I've had to charge it. I love the simplicity of this camera. It's a great size with easy to use features. Pictures are sharp and clear. I actually had an older model of this same camera that I loved. As I was taking a picture of one of my cats, he accidentally knocked it out of my hands and when it hit the floor, the lens was bent beyond repair. Hence the 4 stars on durability.
