I've used the Canon PowerShot SD880IS for four weeks now, and it has lived up to its good reviews. The pictures are good, even under less-than-perfect conditions, and uploading is easy with Windows or Mac. I really like having the option - just point and shoot or manually set up the shot using a fairly wide range of settings. The manual is clear and logically arranged. Read the manual all the way through to get the most out of the camera. Also, buy the extra memory (I bought the Kingston 4 GB); you'll need it.Customer Review: grab n go

this is my grab n go camera when i dont want to bring around my DSLRs. the AF is pretty quick and the 3inch screen is clear. there are plenty of extra functions to play with. my favorites are P/Auto mode and digital macro. EXCELLENT macro capabilities if youre into that. decent zoom range, very nice wide end for landscapes. the colors it captures are pretty nice too.
just a minor detail is that its a little delicate. the buttons are nice but easily pressed by mistake (not used to smaller cameras)

Bought this camera for a trip to Japan. I hadn't ever owned a canon and was planning on buying a nikon cool pix. Amazon had this camera listed as most popular camera in point and shoot, general purpose, and one other category I don't remember. So I looked at it a bit and read some other reviews online and decided it was a better buy than the cool pix. I have been blown away by the lens and macro features on the camera. The SD880 IS takes good shots and the wide angle feature is hard to find in a digital camera of this size. I used the camera on a recent trip and the I got a lot of great pictures out of it. I found the manual scene mode allowed more control over picture settings and anyone who likes to tinker with settings will appreciate them more than just auto.
The deal through this Amazon partner was very good and the camera shipped within the allotted time. I would purchase again from this source.

After receiving this camera - my sister had to hand deliver it to me in Guatemala - i was totally relieved! Before this, i had a Red Nikon Coolpix that was completely unreliable. Thanks to this camera, I've become a Canon loyalist. It's got a huge screen, a chic black display, great resolution on zoom pictures and snaps pictures like nobody's business. I absolutely recommend this camera to people like me who use it for everyday pictures, going out dancing and impromptu photo shoots!
