This camera is fantastic. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great, durable, high quality camera. You will need more hard drive space. The photos range from 2.5Mb to 4.5Mb at the 12Mb setting.
I would also recommend buying the 4Gb Sandisk Extreme III disk, it will reduce the read/write time speeding up performance.
Used this camera on our trip to New Zealand and took some great pictures.
The camera boots and takes a photo in < 2 secs, great for unexpected shots.
Very satisfied with this camera. Great job Canon.

I have been taking pictures with good equipment for years. This is my third digital camera and the quality of pictures and ease of use far exceed my expectations. I am able to create photos that equal with those which are produced by far more expensive and larger cameras.
The special features for videos and close-up are marvelous. Best of all is the compact size which allows me to have it with me all the time to catch those special shots that are unplanned. Canon has a real winner here, I could not be more pleased!

I've had many, many, MANY different point and shoot digitals (since the days of Sony Mavica). This particular camera is by far my favorite. It takes fantastic shots (many easily as good as my digital SLR). Very quick recovery time between shots, which is a must-have feature for me. Easy to turn the flash off when needed (a feature I use quite often). Takes great pictures in low light. Sturdy-- I've dropped it a number of times, and it still turns on.
I highly recommend this camera. It's worth every penny I paid for it.

Used the SD550 because it is very fast to start and operate.
This one is even better because of the image stabilization.
12 Mega pixel are still sharp on daylight, even though I was told that 7M is the optical limit.
The compartment door is OK. would open if you use the Accessory Kit for Canon SD950 because it is too tight.
Battery never runs out!!!
Excellent product. Small, fast, and takes excellent pictures.
Very intuitive user interface.
Get it if you can.

This is a good camera. It's small enough to fit in a shirt pocket yet easy in hand. All cameras have some disadvantages but so far I haven't found anything serious enough to say I wouldn't have bought if I'd known about ....... Would I buy it again? At this point yes. I don't think I'll find anything to change my mind even though I haven't owned it that long. The only thing that could be a negative is the use of the rechargeable battery pack. That is slightly less convenient than just going to the store for regular batteries.
