This is a great camera - small enough to take everywhere, great optical zoom (12x), great image quality, and manual overrides for great control.
We own two of these - my husband uses the automatic settings most of the time, but finds it easy enough to try other settings & modes. We hike a lot, and find that the battery lasts several days, even when we are shooting pictures all day long. The still image quality is outstanding; have not used the hd video so can't speak to that. Would recommend this camera to anyone who wants high-quality images without lugging along a bulkier SLR camera.

On our initial impressions this camera is everything we wanted and more. We bought this camera two days ago to replace our PowerShot SD630. The SX200IS is just a bit larger than the SD630 and is still pocket size and easily transportable. The various modes available on the camera are great that make it easy for point-and-shoot users. The 3" LCD screen is a lot sharper than our previous SD630.
With its small size, 12x optical zoom, HD video capability, and huge 12 MP picture size at $350 half of what my previous camera cost I couldn't be happier with this camera.

I am not a professional photographer, but I wanted a nice camera with me when I went on a trip to Europe. The Cannon Powershot SX 200 IS has more than served me well. It takes outstanding pictures, and the built in panorama stitching mode works wonderfully!
I also love the look of this camera, it is gorgeous and the perfect compromise between compact size and a full set of features.
I would definitely recommend this camera to anyone that is not a professional but still wants a camera that is capable of taking the very best pictures.

this camera replaced an underwater olympus camera that was stolen. i very much like the zoom on this camera. it has 12x optical(lense)zoom and 48x overall(digital) zoom. the picture quality at 48x is very surprising, much better than i expected. good value at the 321 i paid for it, i dont think its worth much more than that if any at all. amazon could have shipped it a little better instead of just throwing the box in another box... but the camera works.Customer Review: powershot sx200IS

This product came in a timely manner. It was packaged in its original box with all its instructions and warranties. The camera is light weight and easy to adjust from one mode to the next. The battery life is excellent I can charge it and use it over the next 2-3 weeks without another charge. The product is well made and solid it is a little bulky but if your looking for a pocket camera this is not it but it easily slide into a jacket pocket or purse.
