This purchase was a Christmas present to myself. Great buy! This powershot came highly recommended. I am impressed with the video capability and quality pictures. Easy to use. The memory card in the package was a teaser, I then purchased 4gb since I was constantly taking pictures. Regardless of taking the picture vertically or horizontally, you can view on the LCD in any position. I've recommended this camera to others.Customer Review: Excellent Camera...Good value for money..

Very satisfied with the product. A very good camera...Excellent picture quality and yes it works as good as a video camera also. Just buy a high capacity storage card with this and you are all set... Just love what I bought...Good value for money, would highly recommend to others.. Haven't had any problems.. Canon rules!

I cannot believe how easy this camera is to use. It takes excellent stills and a fair quality video. The audio could be better, but it's only a hand held camera! I have been a Canon fan since owning an F-1, then a Powershot A60. Wonderful sized view screen. Half the power usage. Oh yea, "Consumer Reports" recognized it as a "Best Buy" after I bought mine, phew!Customer Review: great product at a great price

This is a solid camera. I got it for my grandfather who was making the transition from film to digital. I have an SD1000 which he thought was too small for him. This camera was a nice balance of function, zoom, and price. I ordered this project as a camera for use on a job site for a construction inspector. It arrived 3 days quicker than expected, with a case and memory card bundle. The case is a little big, as the A1000 is much thinner and sleeker than its parent, the A590. Its a small, compact, canon, which takes great pictures way above its price point.
