Don't buy the Vixia HV30 without this kit. The extra battery and plug in charger, the 10 total DV tapes and Tripod, the lens cleaner, etc. you are going to need anyway. It also comes with a camera case, which is a definite must have. The picture quality of this camera is definitely great, and it has any connector you require, HDMI, DV, Component, MIC, Composite. The best thing about this camcorder is that you can delay your HD Video transfer indifinitely because you have the DV tape storage. Trying to work with HD Video at this stage of development requires a very expensive computer. You can down covert the HDV signal to DV for copy to DVD, and later when Blu Ray recorders come out you will still have your HDV tapes for transfer to Blu Ray. Please make sure that if you get a Hard Disk Drive Camcorder that you know what you are getting into.
