If you want to convert your Canon G12 into a tough looking camera that resembles a range finder, purchase this adapter! Its rugged design both protects the retractable lens and allows you to add a protective filter to keep sand and dust away. Also the knurled ring on the converter gives the photographer an extra hand hold, kind of like a small DSLR. The only downfalls are the camera is no longer a shirt pocket camera and the converter blocks some of your view thru the viewfinder if you use it. For me this is not an issue. So, purchase this converter to protect your lens and make your G12 look really cool !
